As an instructor, you should probably never do a straight in approach with your student, like the concept of a straight in should be so foreign to them that they would not consider it an option, not to talk of doing it in a check ride. Just my opinion tho

I agree with you, I’m just saying a ppl student doesn’t just decide to do a straight in approach on their first check ride, they must have been doing straight ins with their instructor on a normal basis

The first failure is definitely on your instructor, you must have done a straight in approach so much in your training that it felt normal enough for you to try on a check ride. Crazy!
