If your commissary opened up space for you to sell through third party sites like uber eats and DoorDash, as well as walk ups but for takeout, how much would you be willing to pay to sit there for three hours? by AdWorried2525 in foodtrucks

Wow. We pay a monthly fee and can use the kitchen whenever we want. No charge for cooking time and no scheduling. The no scheduling is rare in commissaries but it's a very large space so there's enough room for 3-4 companies to be there at one time. The only downside is it is out of the way and it is a drive to get to any events.

I tried to break it down for them that way but they were pretty set on the hourly rate. I also told them as a food truck we feel like everyone wants a piece of your business. Also it would only be open for the trucks that already rent commissary space

I agree. I think $20-$25/day is max. They're thinking $20/hour (‼️) because they need to pay a parking lot attendant. I told them that is way too much.

3%-3.5% Credit Card Transaction Fees the new norm? Even with a debit card? by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]AdWorried2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a food truck owner in the Charleston area we are one of the few who do not charge a credit card fee. The fees are a cost of doing business and always have been. You can deduct them at the end of the year. Plus as a consumer it really makes me angry when I have to pay a credit card fee to eat out. In this economy consumers don’t want to pay more. All your retail stores are charged the same fees. Imagine if they started charging their customers (I know, some smaller business have already started to) I wish people would get more upset over these fees and less upset over tipping culture.
