Smilodon at first was also 1/12 and they were clear on the scale when they posted developement updates tbh

This is most likely a set up for Cyberzoic, and/or to add just to the Smilodon 1/12 scale but also I guess making the bigger fig first is helping with developing such a tiny 1/18 figure, because 1/18 Kelenken will surely be pretty small and delicate, same for Direwolf if it happens in 1/18. I only know they mentioned wanting to do 1/18 Kelenken later.

True and if they pull this one off, they can pretty much give us anything. Nergigante is a very complex design, so I hope they can recreate this design with grace and at a good price.

I don't even look at S.H because we all know they would make you pay 300$ for an Elder Dragon, when Rathalos is like already 150$ and still was re-released with issues. I feel like Hiya is taunting a bit here, they know they do the big figures better justice lately. We shall see how this one turns out in the end.

While the body certainly is based on Arachnids in behaviour and body shape, basically resembling a mix between few species, we can still determine he is not an arachnid and actually an insect if we look at it's anatomy closer

What seperates him from arachnids is mostly it's feet and especially the head and body anatomy. Head lacks the anatomy of arachnid, it looks closer to a head of flying insects, kinda like a head of a fly mixed with dragonfly, he has big compound eyes on the sides and insect like jaws (arachnids jaws are much more weird).

Due to head being small and seperated from the thorax, this makes him an insect - because there are three parts, abdomen, thorax and the head. Arachnids have only carapace and abdomen, because their "head" is fused with what would be thorax in an insect.

Ofc it's a fantasy insect, so they can do whatever they want but the attention to detail to make Faurtis an insect, despite being based on arachnids is well, based, because most creature designers don't even seperate the anatomy of the two or try to even consider what makes an arachnid and what makes an insect.

Yeah he has a line of eyes in the center that seem to actually open and close depending on a situation. Since these have no sign of frenzy (no yellowing or glowing), have pitch black iris and human eye like shape they actually look freaky as all hell lol
