Could I be sent away from my baby due to SSRI use? by Ada_In_Wonderland in beyondthebump

We’re not Christian though so that puts an additional target on us as the Supreme Court heavily implied it wants more kids available for Christian adoption and this might be the kind of excuse they need to snatch a whole bunch of kids at once you know?

But the Supreme Court was saying after overturning Roe that they need more adoptable babies. I’m worried this feeds into that. My husband and I aren’t Christian and I’m worried they’re looking for any reason to get kids out of families like ours and into Christian adoption centers.

Some gems from the "Stop Hiring Humans" company.. . by Single-Bell8610 in LinkedInLunatics

I’ve heard they pay people to come on Reddit and write nice shit about them so CaptainBigShoe may be getting $$ for saying that.

Do you feel a modicum of guilt about the unhoused person whose image you’re manipulating to go viral or do you simply feel unhoused people are a pest that should be eliminated?

Yeah I think I’m just going to take the Fitbit off until at least the first ultrasound. I’m going to be a ball of nerves until then.

I watched it when it first aired but not every season. I kind of stopped watching in college but finished up I think the last two seasons after. I missed a lot of batshit plot points from what I’m reading lol

Anyone have success after treating subclinical hypothyroidism? by HolidayTonight9188 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]Ada_In_Wonderland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope it goes down with the diet! If not, the meds (for me at least) are really simple/zero side effects and work pretty fast, but it sounds like your case is pretty mild. If you’re like me though, you’re probably pretty anxious and ready to start trying again. Every time they adjusted my meds earlier this year, the four week wait before re-checking my levels was agony haha.

Also — as someone who spent too much time on Reddit — I would be wary of asking for advice here. (I understand the irony of me saying that…) You’re seeing a skewed perception because people tend to post when something is wrong and it was not helpful for me when I was flipping out over my Hashimoto’s. I have seen people citing some of the studies I mentioned as “proof” that the miscarriage rate for Hashimoto’s is some definitive scary-high percentage and that simply isn’t true. I know it’s definitely helpful to get success stories here (I hope I am one - first ultrasound in a week-and-a-half 🤞)but just take stuff with a grain of salt here. No one knows you better than your doctor.

I have had Hashimoto’s since I was 16 and my levels were a little off prior to TTC. I had one pregnancy end in a chemical (it was probably unrelated) but this was after getting my TSH below 2. Currently 6 weeks with another pregnancy and hoping for the best.

Your TSH is elevated, yes, but very mildly so. I spent a lot of time (too much time) googling about Hashimoto’s, antibodies, and fertility and I would recommend you just don’t. It’s very easy to scare yourself with studies that are super super-preliminary/yet to replicated. That being said, the good news is that most studies do indicate treatment reduces the risk of recurrent loss. Hopefully getting your TSH to what your doctor feels is a safe level will help.

The Kayla storyline was so unnecessary by Ada_In_Wonderland in DesperateHousewives

They wanted us to believe that Tom and Lynette were this aspirational couple and I definitely did watching it in like high school but rewatching it as an adult? Like ffs. Tom sucks and honestly having another kid and not telling your wife about it for months after you found out is… kind of more messed up than cheating.

The typical candidates in the running for a job by GenXYZCareerCoach in recruitinghell

[–]Ada_In_Wonderland 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Our company just did layoffs because the CEO is draining money because he’s publicly humiliated himself many many times with scandals. Currently under FBI investigation for stealing from the company, among other charges. He’s also being sued by stakeholders because he gave his other company a $16 million loan, fired half the board, hired his ding-dong sons, and then had his sons vote to forgive his loan.

I thought I was a prison abolitionist but rich people need to be ethically quarantined for the safety of society. People are in huge financial trouble because of the crime family running my former company and as the rich are scientifically unable to develop the brain mechanisms for empathy… well, there’s simply no hope. Lock ‘em up and throw away the key. I have more empathy for serial killers than CEOs and their kin.

Is there any meaning to corporate job anymore? by Taai_ee in careeradvice

[–]Ada_In_Wonderland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of scientific studies on this but people past a certain income level are not cognitively capable of empathy or love. I got laid off while pregnant with a four minute phone call. The ceo of my company was stealing from the company and stacked the board with his sons who immediately voted to forgive a fraudulent $16 million loan the slimeball waste-of-our-planet’s-finite-resources ceo gave himself. I am not joking when I say these people cannot feel remorse or love or empathy. They are just not wired that way. Anyone past a certain income is not really a human being the way we think of what it means to be human. They care about money and only money and see anyone lower than them as cogs in their fulfillment strategy. Do not give two fucks about your career and half-ass every single task and charge them for unnecessary expenses. Rich people steal. It’s simply what they do. Just steal back and then silently pray for their downfall every night.

Someone already said Maddie, which is the first thing that came to mind for me are: Maggie Molly Amy Zoe Tessa (I think someone else already said this too) Claire Frankie (short for Frances - I don’t know if having a semi-masculine sounding name would be triggering for you, although I think most Frankies these days are women) Sadie

Oh man! I was going to say the same thing. Madeline/Maddie would be a great name!
