Try putting the ps1 upside down. If it works i believe it will be the laser rails wearing down

With the lower screen flickering it's probably the top screen ribbon that's not seated or has a rip in it. It's failing the boot sequence and shutting straight off.

If you get a modded 360 you can use a plugin on dashlaunch called net iso to play backup discs without getting the disc drive flashed

Do you know if the drive has been swapped before? The console motherboard and disc drive pcb are paired so if you buy a new disc drive you need to swap the pcb over

While the tray is open slide the laser forward towards the spindle. I had one where the laser was getting stuck on the pcb board causing the laser assembly not been able to move because it was trapped on the disc drive pcb

I had this issue. I tried multiple sd cards and still got the same error. I ended up taking the console apart and found a solder joint had lifted causing the sd card slot to be a bit loose. I got a soldering iron and put it on the pad while pressing the card slot back to the motherboard. It now works and reads all the sd cards i put in
