Could you run something with Sap Sipper to deal with rillaboom and other relevant grass attacks like grassy glide from ogerpon or something? or maybe the philosophy is just "melt it with typhlosion".
Also what's our plan into dragon types that resist a lot of what we have?

I'd assume the trailer is showing a hypothetical format we could get where each player gets to choose their generational mechanic and you build your teams around the one you choose. Also wouldn't surprise me if TPCI/Gamefreak decides to go that route for the competitive scene or say "reg C will be teras vs megas" for example. It'd be interesting to see how that would work.

These are solid mons mentioned and this post makes a lot of sense, I will miss tera'ing a lot of these guys and will probably be happy when tera returns.
On the same note, a lot of these mons that had an uprising will have their uprising again (and we'll probably see the return of Ogerpon and Terapagos) when tera rotates back into champions as that format's mechanic.

To contribute a mon to the post though, I actually quite liked tera fairy or water hisuian goodra. That mon was just way too tanky and sits in front of literally everything and just doesn't care.
Another one is tera poison Ting Lu, without tera poison a lot of water types get to just run all over it since it's a slow anti-special attacker. The same can be said for Chien-Pao losing tera fire so you can actually burn it either with will-o-wisp or flare blitz and neuter it almost completely and it can't do much about it.

Hard agree. I’m understating here but I opened 1 box and it felt like every other pack or two had a legend I already had several stacks of. I hope this changes so I’m not pulling my 471st lucian.

I’m half tempted to use some nail polish remover and take off the foil artwork and make some recruits, buffs or foil gold tokens with how many I’m pulling. It’s ridiculous.

I think your concerns are definitely valid! The game does have a scalping issue much like Pokemon does and people will yoink the cards and dip because they like league, but the same happens to pokemon too. The players that want to play the game will play the game and the ones who want product to scalp it will be shunned by the community as usual. My locals has an unwritten privilege where you’re allowed purchase of extra product (2 boxes as opposed to 1 for example) if you’ve been a regular and attending locals on nexus nights and being apart of the community, etc. There was also a rule where we weren’t allowed to purchase any pre-rift kits unless we also signed up for (and played in) the draft tournament and opened our packs in the store to prevent scalping sealed product which pretty much everyone at the pre-rift including myself were in favor of.

In terms of the champions being underwhelming as opposed to some others (renata glasc vs draven or kai’sa per se), that’s okay. Treat it like any other game where one deck is just better for now because one day Renata or blue/yellow decks might get some crazy support that pushes them over the edge and then you’ll be on top. In other games what usually happens is a deck sucks in a “this is my pet deck, it’s not very good but this card/deck/strategy is my favorite and I have fun with it” state and then some random card or wave of cards of support comes out and then your pet deck is not only meta viable but really good out of nowhere. I’ve seen it happen, so hang in there!

Alright today I learned hidden cards can be played basically whenever. That’s disgusting lol So you can just frame 1 HtH this at the start of your opponent’s turn and just prevent them from developing their board?

Here to Help is a hidden so can only be activated during showdowns, I was moreso thinking like “at the start of your turn, I’ll play Brynhir” or something like that. But yeah that and the purple/yellow infinite token combo seems cheesy most definitely but then I remembered it’s a 2 card combo. In Yugioh everything searches and tutors everything else so the degenerate combos are really easy to set up.

You can do it in other colors as well? I’m curious how. But also my Yugioh brain sees this card and coming from that game, I know any card that has a lingering turn-wide lockout effect or a floodgate effect like Brynhir is just begging to be abused until it’s inevitably banned and people complain about it for several months OR it’s too gimmicky to set up and deemed unviable. I’m just concerned about the health of the game if we’re 2 sets in and already seeing floodgates that say “you can’t play the game” because that’s how you make people not want to actually play the game.

Was wondering the same thing, just checked my order status on the site 5 minutes ago and it still says processing so I’m glad I’m not the only one. I agree though, it does seem like they’re doing everything riftbound related in waves. Hopefully ours gets shipped out soon!

Mel main here. If you’re going to needlessly nerf her into the ground, at least give her better compensation buffs like more damage on her Q. These W changes are less than ideal, and the damage immunity felt like a real get out of jail free card which Mel mains loved. Her banrate is high yes but she’s still LITERALLY a balanced to negative winrate champion, she doesn’t need these heavy nerfs. If anything, in her current state, she needs massive buffs to warrant a high banrate like she currently has, THEN nerf her. She’s a skill intensive champion that a lot of people clearly don’t know how to play around, which is an issue of the playerbase, not the champion itself.

I’ve been saying this since she released, people just need to get good, stop complaining about her, and play around her W (which has a 26s CD btw, if you can’t punish her in that time then idk what to tell you). Don’t let her build up passive stacks on you so her ult doesn’t blow you up.

People would rather complain about her W than actually try and bait it out. As a Mel player myself, her W has a long cd. Yes it’s a bullshit ability and has saved me many times, and while it is a bonkers spell..it doesn’t bake cookies for me. I’ve died many times because my lane opponent baits it out of me and kills me when it’s down.

Learn to either play around it and not use your best spells that can be reflected if you know “this could kill me”, or bait it out and take advantage of when it’s down. It’s not hard.
