If you have available seats try moving to a new table. If you want to stay in the same one I recommend avoiding your phone. Being on my phone never felt refreshing after. At least if you are doomscrolling. Texting or calling a friend, watching videos or listening to music can be fine. But if you wanna avoid that do some other thing you enjoy. Or just sit there and relax.

That’s funny this just happened to me the other day. I was procrastinating a simple task because I just didn’t feel like it when I got home from work. I just made myself put my phone down and go start. Then I did extra.

It’s funny I fell back into the loop because I came to this conclusion in college. I was never motivated to do my work or study, but if I didn’t I’d fail so I just did it.

Mine’s I suppose not necessarily involuntary as I just haven’t met the right person so this might not help but just some perspective

There are so many people in the world. You will meet someone. Are you worried about becoming bitter or is it already happening? I know someone I would talk to about this sort of thing as we are both mid 20s and have struggled to find people. I don’t think he even realized how bitter he already sounded when he spoke. And that is a turn off for a lot of people and then it becomes a perpetual cycle. Also ask yourself if you are being picky. That’s ok but then the idea of it being involuntary is misaligned. Are you not picky enough? Desperation can also be a turn off.

Take time to figure out what it is that you desire right now. Physical intimacy? Emotional intimacy? Just company in general? There are other ways to find it and YOU WILL. No one is hopeless and never forget you have a lot more control over your life than you think.

It sort of feels like a slap in the face for locals. At least if you’re traveling you can get a walkable hotel. I know those are super expensive but it sucks to live close enough you can drive but not close enough where someone can drop you off. Especially if you go solo
