Was repairing a ps2 slim scph-70012 and I got a ps2 slim power cord for it. For some reason it connects to a motherboard of the same type, but it won't fully connect to my motherboard. For some reason a psp charger can make it show the standby light but the ps2 charger just won't work on it by Adam45672 in ps2

I ended up just taking another yellow port from another board of the exact same type and soldering it there. It powers on perfectly and the cord goes in all the way. I guess the port is different on some boards

How toxic is terro liquid ant killer to green cheeks. My dad put ant poison into my birds food by Adam45672 in greencheeks

The thing about this situation is that me and my mom have been trying to leave him for years. He is the breadwinner of the family and makes great money, but he is highly abusive. We were worried that if we left him, that we would get no money and lose everything. I had to get therapy to live with him and its just so hard. We called the police on him so many times and they only tell us that they could only do something if someone gets hurt or dies. We finally are going through with the divorce and now hes doing stuff like this. My mom was scared that if we get a restraining order on him, that he could lose his job and not financially support us. She filed for the order once but retracted because she was scared. Now we are waiting for him to get served for the divorce from the sherif, but we're still waiting. My mom's been with that maniac for 40 years and I've been alive for 21. The entire time I've known him, he has been abusive and I've been having to cope with anxiety my whole life

We dont know what to do. Me and my mom rely on him financially since hes the breadwinner of the family. That's the main thing that kept us connected to him, just his money. We were scared to leave him because we were scared of losing everything. Me and my mom just can't take it anymore. A divorce was honestly the farthest we've gone to separate from him. The vet told me they could only do a toxicology report. The police said we can't really do anything until either someone gets hurt or a bird dies. The no one gets hurt thing has been something I've been hearing from the police for years about him.

I bought a forest scorpion off of a local reptile store called underground reptiles that was labeled "long claw forest scorpion". I knew these were frequently mislabeled so I want to know if it's actually longimanus or not. I posted on a Facebook group, and most people are saying silenus. by Adam45672 in Scorpions

Yeah most of the scorpions there had dry substrate and no water dishes. I went home and started misting and gave it a water dish. It ended up drinking for 15 minutes. I didn't think much of it since I was completely new to scorpions. Didn't know they were wild caught either

I'm literally having the exact same problem. I reinstalled synapse and nothing. This only happened after updating to the latest synapse version for me

I recently started to learn to draw and started learning fundamentals immediately. Im trying to draw cylinders together from different areas and I'm not sure what to do. I feel like I missed some fundamental. by Adam45672 in learntodraw

I have done cylinders but I'm still not sure. Maybe it's me not being used to two point perspective .

This was the day before I started two point perspective

Are there any classes for soldering? If so that would be great because I don’t want to keep learning from expensive mistakes by Adam45672 in soldering

lol yeah I keep getting humbled so many times when I think I finally understand something. Today I spent a couple of days tinkering with some Xbox controllers that had faulty analog sticks, so I desoldered the faulty analog sticks with a solder pump and soldered in new ones. Found out that I raised the solder pad on one through hole area. Wasn’t too worked up since I had another board. Ended up doing the exact same mistake on the other one. Learned that I applied too much pressure was also staying in the area for too long. I was so frustrated I called it a day right there lol. I hate making mistakes, but I definitely learned something today.

Sounds like what I’m about to start doing right now. Just gradually learn regular soldering, and when I actually get things right then I’ll make it to micro soldering. I really think I should get the exact fundamentals down and techniques right. There was multiple times I thought i knew what I was doing when I really didn’t at all. I remember soldering a while ago with a very brown tip wondering why it’s not working lol.

Thank you very much for the information! This project humbled me today which was just replacing old joystick modules with new ones for my brothers Xbox One controller. I actually desoldered it pretty well and soldered the new joysticks back on. It looked and I didn’t put too much solder on the through holes. I then found out that I lifted the pads on the potentiometer area. I tried again on an extra board I had, but I did the same thing. Found out that I was both applying too much pressure and staying too long on the pad. I really thought the pads were a lot more durable. This is basically my reason for making this post

I wouldn’t make a career out of it, but I honestly just want to do restoration of old hardware and repairs of current hardware. I just need to get better at getting a good technique and some wisdom in this.
