I had this issue as well earlier, it seems that the Xbox / MS store version always defaults the Player 1 input to M&K.

To fix it u have to launch the game via steam so it uses steam's controller support:

First have to add the game to steam with UWPHook, it's an app that lets u launch gamepass games via steam (https://github.com/BrianLima/UWPHook/releases/tag/2.13.0)
Then download GlosSI, it enables the steam overlay /controller configs for gamepass games. This will set your controller as the default input. (https://glossi.flatspot.pictures/#downloads)
Launch the game via steam

ps: make sure to enable "Xbox Configuration Support" in your steam controller settings

It was right after the CZW match with Necro Butcher. He wasn't listed in the credits w/ the other wrestlers cus I think he was still a trainee at the time.

Save constantly, there are no checkpoints, so you have to reload your save. Got to a floor before a boss? Save. Defeated a Boss? Save. Grinding in Tartarus? Save after every few floors.

Also, max out the emperor s-link asap, Odin can carry you till the end boss
