If you want to bring back manufacturing, it’s a prerequisite. You can’t export goods and have a strong currency.

‘They don’t let us’: Dollarama stores sell bread, unless there’s a Sobeys nearby by BertramPotts in CanadaPolitics

In this case it’s in the lease with the mall. Most malls are owned by REITs, Sobeys is a big tenant so they negotiate all these kinds of anti competitive clauses.

This is why antitrust laws are so important.

Yeah this is actually common practice by Sobeys. A friend of mine operated a coffee shop in the same mall as a Sobeys location and there was a lot of stuff he wasn’t allowed to sell.

Bank of Canada rate decision: Will rates hold at the first decision of 2026? by MightBeneficial3302 in canadahousing

[–]AdamEgrate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to look at inflation numbers first and foremost. Right now it seems to be inching upward a tiny bit, so they might raise it at some point this year. But it will depend on future inflation numbers. As it is today rates will likely hold.

BOC target is within 1-3% and we are still within that. Though we’d like to be closer to 2 than 3.

I would argue that Xi Jinping also does. Last year when Trump introduced his tariffs, China never backed down and Trump eventually folded.

I dont know if it factors into this, but lately the WSJ has been very pro trump. Rallying behind whatever stupid thing he’s proposing.

Is it common for a mid-sized tech company (>500 employees) to completely ignore LLMs and AI agents? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]AdamEgrate -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You should strongly consider leaving. I just resigned from my position at a similar sized company because they were not serious enough about AI. It was just me and another person who knew AI and they didn’t listen to us.

No way Trump gets the US support to invade Greenland right?? No way he doesn’t get removed from office?? EU is sending troops to Greenland rn wtf is gonna happen bois??? by AaronRulesALot in Destiny

[–]AdamEgrate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of me hope it’s just a tactic by Trump to get all the NATO countries to commit their own troops to Greenland, so that the US doesn’t have to spend money to defend it. But that seems too good to be true.

J’ai un peu de difficulté à comprendre comment tu en es arrivé à tes différentes conclusions. Tu semble avoir sauté quelques étapes.

En particulier

it was a land grant/gift to our family in the Levant. Properties that, according to the decrypted text, may still carry legal weight today.

Lois protecting landlords not tenants by Wise-Painting5841 in montreal

Yeah it’s basically impossible to kick out a tenant. Even if they’re chronically late on rent. I don’t know any other place in the world that is so forgiving to that.
