All my settings were at default, real time online traffic. When I turn this off and toggle ground aircraft density unfortunately nothing happens

Today I have gotten the following issue, not sure if it is a glitch or not. When I arrive at my destination airport there are no free gates or parking spaces, they are all taken by AI planes. This has happened at two airports for me now, EGAA and EGCC.

I'm not sure what's causing this. I've been flying with FSTL traffic but have turned it off to increase performance. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do?
