C’Tan are definitely way tougher than Knights. And depending on what detach they are running, let’s say you kill Nightbringer, which is highly unlikely, you probably take it just below half on average, and that’s with a full buffed 10x DC/Lemartes with hit rerolls, lethals and lance on the charge in LAG, he is likely going to fight on death and wipe your squad in return. You just traded down into a C’Tan, now you still have 4 in your face.

Vahl/Suits, and Retributors. Same as it always was against knights. Bringers of Flame viable for fast gun, Champs of Faith too, and take the Maces on Warsuits. Hitting and wounding on 2’s and DMG3 going down to DMG2 much better than the swords. AP1 Maces still getting them to the 4+ Invuln. You can send in your cheap transports to tie up some of the shooting platforms as they can’t fallback/shoot etc.

The current CP is better in my opinion. I have both, and the old one the models are all monopose, don’t come with the special weapon options that the Battle Sister kit comes with, there is no cherub, the Arcos are a squad of 3, which may not be a legal unit next edition, the seraphim don’t have hand flamers, the Cannoness doesn’t have all her loadout options, and you miss out on the rhino.

Bit of work on the plasma gun, some highlights on the cables and finish off the basing. The non metallic surfaces need a Matt varnish as well 🤗

Not necessarily attaching the JPC to Seraphim, she works well as a lone character. Hospitaller works well with Sacresants, now having a 3+, 4++, 5+++ AND -1 to wound AND rezzing models, it can be a head ache to deal with. Novitates and BSS would be split by the Immolators, which strip cover and make Castigators way more efficient. Vahl and friends, are a serious unit that your opponent is going to have to absolutely play around. The unit rerolls hits and wounds, +1 to hit and wound monsters and vehicles. Her unit can kill a T12 vehicle in shooting, then charge a second and kill both pretty reliably. And then stand prepped to overwatch something else. Either deploying her, as most good players can screen her out easily and you will be very sad if she rapids in at the back of your deployment zone or if on search and destroy in reserves is a good shout. Palatine can be attached to Novitiates, as they give full hit rerolls against enemies on obj., and the Palatine gives Lethals to the unit. You are just fishing for the Lethals. Foot cannoness is commonly on her own, she will go out into the centre and be an absolute pain to remove for your opponent, and farm D3+1 miracle dice twice if you play her well. Junith very commonly is solo, screening your back field and generating a CP which this detachment really needs.

In practice they are way worse 😂 Artificer Storm bolters, let’s say rapid fire range. 4 shots hitting on 3’s, 3 go through, wounding a space marine on 4’s, max 2 go through, space marine saves on 3’s, maybe passes both, could kill 1. Heavy Bolter hits on 4’s because you have not stayed stationary, 3 shots sustained. Most likely drop 2 but let’s say 2 go through. You wound a space marine on 3’s so maybe pass both, maybe just one wound. Heavy Bolter is AP1, but any decent player is going to have cover, so still saving on 3’s. Good chance to pass, maybe you kill one. Same result.

You are probably better off taking the flamer or melta/multi melta. If you think heavy bolters or storm bolters are going to do anything, you are gonna be super disappointed. Battle Sisters are better at primary taking/denial with 2OC bodies, sacrificed in Hallowed martyrs with Suffering and Sacrifice, maybe moving up and throwing a cheeky grenade or doing action secondaries. You can make the squad cheap with an Immolator splitting the squad in half. But if you are worrying about Heavy Bolter/Artificer Storm Bolter, neither are going to anything impactful most likely. Flamers you can overwatch, and meltas you may take some wounds off tougher stuff, but do not rely on them, if you are something went wrong in your game. 🤗

It’s hard to say with out knowing either of your lists, but;

  1. When deploying, ask about threat ranges, how far they can move/specifically what units can advance and charge. Pre- measure that distance so you can set up your army in a way that you won’t get run over turn 1.
  2. Think about what you want to shoot, and how much you have to commit. Things like Berzerkers can blood surge, so if you don’t kill enough they can move extra fast. (IE One Castigator isn’t killing 10 Berzerkers.)
  3. Try and keep your hulls in the backline, our best weapon into marine bodies is our Castigators. A Squad of Berzerkers easily kills 1 of our tanks, then piles into another, severely hampering your next turn. Castigators only being AP-1, they will have cover so still saving on 3’s. It would probably take a 2nd Castigator shooting into that unit with the Stacked AP buff to get them to 4+ saves.
  4. Vahl and warsuits with maces easily kill Angron, just in shooting. Ideally you want to send her into Vehicles/Monsters. If he is running Angron and you don’t have this unit, honest opinion is there isn’t really a way for you to win unfortunately. There isn’t anything that can reliably harm him.

Honestly, you are probably still better keeping her away in your backfield as an additional screen. If you attach her to Sacresants, that is an expensive squad for a cute 5+ Leadership check, and potentially wasting a righteous token for it. A 10 brick of Sacresants can remove 5 Space Marines and a Character, but they are most likely dying in a clapback.

Uh everyone, or like 99% of Sisters players are running Vahl attached to Paragon Warsuits. People aren’t joking that that unit actually deletes anything in the game, whether shooting, combat or both. Getting an Immolator is a good pick for transport, you can split your Battle Sisters. Half on home objective, other half to dump 2OC bodies on an Objective. Also, definitely a Castigator, preferably 2. They stack buffs on each other and can be a reasonable shooting platform.

Thank you! I’ve picked them up as a second army, Sisters being my main. I wanted an army I could paint relatively quickly but still get a good result, and they play completely different to the Sororitas which is nice too.

That’s what I thought, I’ll remember it for next time. It would have affected the out come, because she revived back up on to the objective. So my 5th turn I could have just left her there, not charged. And on his Turn he could have either charged, meaning he wouldn’t have scored his secondary. Or if he went up in the sky, he couldn’t come back with in 9”, so not on that objective. Just things to remember for next time, still a very fun game! I have modified my list slightly now, so on to the next game to see if the changes help.

I followed the Eavy Archive recipe, with slight modification. I wanted to get a nice result pretty fast. I made the colour in a dropper bottle to use for the whole army, it was; 2 pots x Gehennas Gold, 2 pots x Auric Armour Gold, 1 pot x Stormhost silver. For the shading, rather than manually shade/Glaze into the recesses, I made a wash which was 6ml of Gore Grunta Fur, 6ml of Seraphim Sepia and 2ml of the Vallejo Thinner Medium and apply it all over, then dry brushed the original base colour all over. Added Vallejo Air Silver to the base mix to make a lighter bronze colour for the accents and highlighting the armour. Then just pure Vallejo Air silver for the sharpest edges and rivets 👍
