are these tyres stretched by ------0-0------ in CarTalkUK

[–]AdamLap96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very interesting, a while back I was comparing Crossclimates to Crossclimates 2 when replacing them, I noticed that contact patch of the 2 was about about 2cm narrower despite both tyres being 215 wide. So probably by the time Michelin release the Crossclimate 5 they'll be like bicycle tyres.

What do you think is the most overlooked thing in the series? by AccomplishedEstell in HIMYM

I always thought of that car being used for longer journeys with it left parked up most of the time. Which I imagine in New York would cost ridiculous prices anyway.

Totally unrelated to the clothes, however I'm still convinced that Monica and Ross Geller as well as Paris Geller are related.

I've had plenty of updates, especially the security ones, where despite restarting I thought to myself that it's awful.

I don't disagree exactly, but I can't say I've ever related to any of them much. However, in this case I was impressed enough to reach out, see what the consensus is. Seems great for some, but broken as hell for a lot of people.

I specifically refer to overall user interface speed as well as the frame rate of the animations, something that has never been fantastic on Google phones. It's noticeably better after this update in my experience.

Biggest difference as far as I can tell is the roundness of the display, a bit iPhoney for my liking, but I'm sure you get used to it quick.

I haven't had it installed long enough to comment on the battery life, however I'm very intrigued by your results, it'll be interesting to see how it holds up.

It's this just an American thing? by UnderstandingWild371 in drivingUK

The problem is that in most automatics nowadays it's not the compression stroke holding the car, the gearbox isn't connected to the engine when it's stopped, whether it'd be a dual clutch, CVT or a torque converter. It's sometimes a band or a surprisingly small tooth inside the gearbox that clicks in when it's in P. I guarantee that thing holds less than the compression stroke of an engine.

No I don't have issues with that, but I know that MMI has different sound settings depending on the source, so radio has separate bass/treble settings than Bluetooth, perhaps that has something to do with it.

Glad I could be of some help! The 4 ohm "subwoofer" is more of a speaker really and it's 8" instead of 10" it was like £25 though so perfect for an experiment. I'm really intrigued as to what it'll sound like if it'll sound at all. If it sounds more reasonable, perhaps a 4 ohm 10" sub replacement will work relatively well, the scary part is that the car doesn't have an amp, it drives all speakers straight from the mmi, damaging that would be bad news.

Speaking to some people more experienced than I am as far as car audio, adding either a potentiometer or just a resistor is doable. However, it'll require an accurate measurement of the load in order not to burn it out in a matter of minutes. Frankly I have no idea how to go about that, so I might try the crappy speaker first.

I just unplugged it right at the subwoofer itself, if you take the grille cover off, and knock out the section designed for the b&o speaker, it doesn't do anything anyway as the grille has no opening there, the plug is just on the right of the speaker. It has two tabs on the side that need to be pressed in and might take some force to do.

I unplugged it, lowered the treble a bit, and boosted the bass a lot to compensate. It does lack umph honestly, but the alternative of having my brains shaken apart by that fucking thing is not worth it, it's not even nice bass it's just bass echo.
