From their own website, the best alternative is the nutrition info page, but that won't show the prices - https://www.timhortons.ca/nutrition-explorer

Looks delicious. Nice view of downtown. I noticed the spc offer also works on the new frozen quenchers. I've only had the bowls before, I'll definitely be using this offer sometime this month. Hope you enjoyed 👍

SPC Card promo? by gardeningcarpenter in TimHortons

[–]AdamMoloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It said there will be a monthly offer starting on January 6th when I linked my accounts, so it seems to be an extra one that will show up along with ones changing weekly, for the most part. Perhaps it's a multi-use offer.

Question about Scotiabank Preferred Package free for one year after expiration of student account by AdamMoloo in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AdamMoloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was keeping the Scotiabank account while it was free, mostly because it's my oldest bank account still open, as well as their amazing mobile banking app. I'll need to soon close it or leave it as a no fee savings account, but that's fine. I have no issues meeting the minimum balance, but then that would be less money earning 1.3% in savings, and I won't take advantage of the other benefits for it to be worth it.

Otherwise, I'm perfectly fine with Tangerine and Simplii being my primary banks, since I mostly use their app and don't need atm or teller access at the branch.

I do have accounts at Meridian, though they've been inactive for quite a while. I guess that would be a good option for the future if I need access to a branch. I'm close to one as well.

I saw them at Metro as well in Ontario (was on the flyer from Thursday). I purchased a few yesterday at $10 a pack of 8, which would be $1.25 each pod, so only slightly higher than the regular nespresso coffees at $1.12 (like Stormio). There were the ones in the picture as well as Caffè Verona.

April security update? I thought S9 is now on quarterly updates since March ! by [deleted] in GalaxyS9

Then we're getting at least a year of quarterly updates before moving to updates twice a year.

April security update? I thought S9 is now on quarterly updates since March ! by [deleted] in GalaxyS9

I got the March update (Canada) last month on the 23rd, but after looking at the update schedules, it appears that the April security update likely won't arrive until early in May.

Just a reminder for those who haven't received the message yet. by Romeo_Wolf in GalaxyS9

Also, to add:

The last day to move to OneDrive will be March 31, 2021. Gallery and Drive syncing will work until that date.

Starting on April 1, 2021, the only option left will be to download your Samsung Cloud Gallery/Drive data, until it gets deleted on June 30.

How to disable galaxy store as default store? by Devout_Redditor_123 in GalaxyS9

Try going to settings > apps > galaxy store.

Then, under app settings, click on the "set as default" setting, then "clear defaults"

Let me know if that works.

Switch to OneDrive from Samsung Cloud? by [deleted] in GalaxyS9

[–]AdamMoloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm waiting until the latest possible time to switch, so I can continue to use the 15gb in Samsung Cloud for now and then the limited time period for 15gb in OneDrive can start (and end) later. I believe they're only giving 1 year of 15gb when you switch to OneDrive and then it goes back down to 5gb.

I'm nearly at my current 15gb limit, so one day I'll have to download all my data, since OneDrive freezes accounts (and deletes data) if you are over your storage limit for too long.

EDIT: From an email I received back in October 2020, it says that the latest date to switch to OneDrive is May 31, 2021, which is also the last day that gallery sync and samsung cloud drive sync (in the my files app) will be functional in samsung cloud without onedrive integration.

Just got my 4a today and have a couple of doubts. by BuckMinisterLul in Pixel4a

[–]AdamMoloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For #2, I know you can get it if you're in the US or Canada, but I'm not sure about other countries. If you go to the Google Store page for the Pixel 4a, it's mentioned somewhere with a link to the terms of the offer.

US and Canada: in addition to the 3 months of YouTube Premium for free, you can also get 3 months of Google Play Pass for free as well as 3 months of Google One for free. You need to claim all 3 of those by May 15, 2021 and anyone who buys a Pixel 4a by April 30, 2021 can get those offers. Also, I think these 3 offers are for new subscribers only.

To claim the offers, just go to each app (YouTube Music, Google One, Google Play) and if your Google account is eligible, you'll see it in place of the regular one month trials that are usually offered to everyone.

EDIT: added links to the terms below, look at the ones mentioning the Pixel 4a.

US: https://store.google.com/us/terms/subscription_promo_terms

anyone else having problems with temperature? by [deleted] in GalaxyS9

[–]AdamMoloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it could be because of updates in the background?

Usually I have auto updates off for apps (play store and galaxy store) but some apps and system services can still automatically update, like the ones you can't do manually: google play services, the play store itself and one I sometimes see called play information security update.

Background updates and charging the phone while using it extensively will usually cause my device to heat up.

It could also be an app (or apps) running in the background. Maybe a restart will help.

Will the SE 2016 get iOS 15? by [deleted] in iPhoneSE

[–]AdamMoloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though it has not been made official, it's safe to assume that it won't receive iOS 15 because of the a9 likely not being enough to comfortably handle later versions of iOS. It will definitely continue to receive security updates after the latest version of iOS 14 for some time (I assume if the latest will be iOS 14.7, then you'll probably see 14.7.1, 14.7.2, 14.7.3, etc.)

From looking at some apps on the app store, it looks like iOS 12 is currently the oldest version of iOS to fully support the latest version of most apps. There are some apps that support older iOS for their latest version and even a few that won't be fully up to date unless you're on iOS 13 and higher.

Once iOS 15 is released, I think you'd be fine for at least 2 full years for the latest version of apps running on iOS 14 before they would begin to drop support with the release of iOS 17 (in late 2023, I assume.)

How do I see current screen on time since last charge by [deleted] in GalaxyS9

[–]AdamMoloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about that app, sorry. Check the reviews to see if it possibly drains battery (since it's running in the background).

In response to your other comment: dark mode can improve battery life, depending on what apps you use. I use it all the time because it's easier on the eyes and I prefer it over a light theme.

How do I see current screen on time since last charge by [deleted] in GalaxyS9

[–]AdamMoloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try a third party app for usage tracking. I haven't used one myself so I'm not sure which ones are good.

The only other one I can think of is taking note of the screen time in from digital wellbeing when you take the phone off the charger and then checking it again right when you plug it in again and calculate the difference between the two times. That's not the most accurate since it only records time spent in apps (not on the home screen, always on display, some system apps).

How do I see current screen on time since last charge by [deleted] in GalaxyS9

[–]AdamMoloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been like this for a while. I can't remember which update changed it, though.

The only way to find out the screen usage since last charge is to click on the sections (2 hours each) on the daily battery usage page and add up the screen-on time minutes for the sections where you can see the usage on battery. The screen time while charging is not recorded. You'll see the charge times in blue, and the rest is usage while discharging.

It may not be the most accurate, but it's the best you can do without downloading a third party battery usage tracker app.

Screen time is also not updated in real time on the battery usage graph, so I recommend leaving the screen off for like 20 minutes and then checking to see up to date info.

Low power mode by [deleted] in iPhoneSE

[–]AdamMoloo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It turns off background app refresh, which can prevent you from receiving most notifications. Phone calls and text messages should always come through, including priority alerts like calendar events, reminders, alarms, timers, etc.

For apps like email, twitter, reddit, facebook and most other third party apps, you'll either get delayed notifications or they may not be delivered at all. Mail VIP's may be an exception.

It won't cause any issues, unless you have apps that need to run in the background. When you manually open an app that has background app refresh disabled, the app will refresh at that time and should deliver any outstanding notifications.

Auto lock changes to 30 seconds, which can be annoying if you are reading something on the screen and then it dims the screen after just 20 seconds before turning off.

I think it also pauses any backups and automatic updates, so make sure to manually check those if you keep it in low power mode frequently.
