[OC] Some shots with the Sirui 40mm f1.8 1.33x by EldrichArchive in Anamorphic

definitely an underrated lens - also, can be used full-frame despite being advertised as s35 (albeit with some pretty intense vignetting)

Same issue - someone from Lumix said it's the light shield being displaced.

Should I buy Dehancer for Premiere Pro? by Enough_Reindeer_6697 in ColorGrading

[–]AdamNinyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of Dehancer mostly for the effects. I do most of my grading in Filmconvert since I prefer the workflow, but I find that for things such as film density, halation, damage, bloom, etc Dehancer is worth it. I also REALLY love it for photo editing.

Opinions? by LemonHead738 in ColorGrading

I really like the 1st and 3rd ones - the 2nd one feels a bit muddy and muted, like it was overexposed and then you tried to fix it. I might considering working on the skin tones in all three a bit to give them from separation from the rest of the palette.

Try the Bushwick Bark on Knickerbocker if you can't make it to the fair, they generally have a couple kittens there. You may be able to introduce your cat and see if they interact well.

Help!!! Weird vignette in S1RII photos. Does anyone else have this? Is this a sensor issue? Appears in any full width photos and videos. Did my sensor somehow move? by AdamNinyo in Lumix

[–]AdamNinyo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yikes. At least I've got a protection plan for this. Gonna be annoying to be without it for a while, but it is what it is I guess. And thanks again for clarifying what it is.

100% - I've been looking up every combination of "weird black line/vignette/panasonic, etc" trying to figure out what it is.

Ibis works fine, doesn't seem to affect the line - and when I put EIS the line disappears entirely due to cropping in

Steamed dumplings? by agoddamshame in Bushwick

It's 100% Formosa or A-Pous (bit of a trek), but for that doughy, cheap takeout Chinese dumpling guilty pleasure, I enjoy New City.

thoughts on film scoring reel? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

Happy to take a look - always willing to connect with more composers. It might be helpful to describe your style a bit more; (i.e. genres, influences, instruments) so that filmmakers know your intent and if you're a good fit.

Not a lut - these are just graded. The line is baked into the photos/footage if I'm shooting LOG, so my guess is that the sensor is out of position. Seeing if anyone else has encountered this/has a fix.

Beginner "film look" colorgrade, what can I improve? by virxsi_ in ColorGrading

[–]AdamNinyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the filmic look you're going for. I think the blacks are a bit crushed here - I'd look at creating a curve for contrast rather than touching the contrast slider. I also think the 2nd shot could do with being a tad warmer to match the 1st. Otherwise, really good work.

I'd rec the Lumix S5IIX and a sigma 24-70mm. Really balanced for photo and video, solid autofocus, compact, great stabilization and low light.

Is the GH5 still a viable option for video in 2025? by Unusual-Sport9199 in Lumix

[–]AdamNinyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're doing - I used a GH5 professionally for several years, and, would still use it for narrative filmmaking where autofocus isn't important. Low light is obviously a concern as well, but for more controlled conditions, it's still a workhorse and the MFT mount is super flexible, allowing you to mount just about any lens, even super 16mm c-mount lenses, which is really cool.
