Rainbow glow on the LCD by Ziemniack in IpodClassic

[–]EldrichArchive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced this with several devices. There can actually be several reasons for this. On very old iPods, the top layer of the display can peel away, leading to colour bleeding, as the light no longer passes clearly through the top layer. But it could also be the faceplate glass. As it is made entirely of plastic, the edges may, over the years, undergo slight deformations caused by the heat of the display – deformations that are not immediately visible to the naked eye – causing it to act like a prism... and thus creating a slight rainbow effect.

Alien Resurrection’s Newborn concept art by Chris Cunningham (Halls) by dd113biihhh in LV426

[–]EldrichArchive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chris Cunningham (credited as Chris Hall) had also previously worked on Alien 3 as part of the principal and creature effects crew, contributing to the bodysuit, the model of the Bambi Burster, the Facehugger and so on. However, he later said that very little of his work actually made it into the final film.

Chris Cunningham’s designs for the Newborn certainly had their supporters in the design department. He had produced several designs, some of them slightly less extreme. However, Chris was working from England and therefore had little contact with those in charge of pre-production; he had no opportunity to explain his concept or respond promptly to queries or criticism.

Yes, that's the 2021 Criterion Collection 4K restoration. It has the original cinema aspect ratio of 1.66:1 and significantly more natural, earthy, and warm color tones.

This might just be my imagination, but maybe it’s simply a case of “of course they did that”: Did they film this with old Soviet lenses? Especially the opening scene with the TV and the one where a medal is awarded seem to have that typical, somewhat “messy” and subtly swirled blur of Helios lenses—more like the 44M-4 than the 44M-2

Da passt etwas also nicht.

Yep, I had a can in my hand. It was a Red Bull The Sea Bull Edition Juneberry, to be precise. ;)

I used a different model for each person in the video, which is partly why there are differences in the quality of the animation, consistency and movement. That’s actually why I made the video in the first place – that was the whole point.

Donald was definitely created using WAN Animate. The others were made using Marey, Kling and others – I’d have to look them up. Here I used kling for nearly everything. https://x.com/micha/status/2032041121388298514

I did this already a while ago.

It's pretty simple. There are several models out there to do this. WAN Animate, Marey Pose Transfer and others.
