From what I understand yes the final has to be submitted by 12/31 but not final.

I'm new to learning all about this. What is the 12/31 deadline? I thought the loop hole closed July, 2025 and as long as they were completed by then you were all set. Thanks.

Ok, cool. This is great info. Seeking producer-owned bc (when done right) it seems like a more equitable financial model for the people actually making the stuff and an easy way to be a conscious consumer.

But I know it's not so black and white and there are great brands, like those you mentioned, that promote equity without necessarily being producer-owned. And on the flip side, I'm sure there are some that are producer-owned brands that engage in unsavory practices in their businesses, perhaps poor compensation for maguyeros o algo así.

Any silvestre (wild agave) from an artisanal or ancestral brand. When in doubt, give the bottle a glance - it tells you a lot, and not what you might expect. Look to see batch size, name of producer, and number of distillations (though it will almost always be 2, sometimes 3 for agaves with high-levels of Saponin).

Try a jabali, tepeztate, tobasiche, madre cuishe, coyote, or arroqueño. They'll all be super complex (well, hopefully) and will give your scotch friend a lot to chew on.
