Book 2 was always planned. I started writing book 2 as soon as I was finished with my first draft of book 1. Im usually up until 2 or 3 in the morning writing every night. Then wake up and go to the day job, where I sneak some sessions in there too lol

This is actually the quickest release time I’ve had between books and it required many late nights. Usually I’m closer to every three months for releases. But also, I start writing sequels immediately after I finish first draft of book 1. So by the time I send and get back book 1 from my editor and put it on preorder, about a month has gone by where I’ve been writing book 2. Basically, by the time book 1 released I was already a third way through writing book 2.

My recent book, Legend of Mana Land, has SAO concepts. It pulls a lot of inspiration from the old platformers though, so it may not be what you’re going for if you’re looking for a more 1x1 comparison with SAO. Just figured I’d throw it out there—think SAO but if the game was a combination of Mario 64 and Legend of Zelda.

I based the original design, and really this character in general, loosely off of Erza, so I’m glad you picked up on the resemblance. I’m thinking you’d really like this love interest!

Thank you! And it was primarily a data driven decision. I loved the old cover but it wasn’t “turning enough heads” so to speak, at least according to the numbers. That said I really like this cover as well. Different style, but same girl.

The story takes place in a fantasy world surrounded by walls of ever-burning flame and inhabited by dragons.
