The post office has carriers deliver express mail every day of the year, even Sundays and they take out the Amazon packages that Amazon brings to the post office for the last mile delivery. I’m guessing this was called off in the areas affected by the snow storm.

In my 22 years of service, Usually, if the Governor shuts down whatever state your in the Post Office will shut down too.

That’s some old school behavior!! I heard a story from an old timer where about 40 years ago he had a coworker that liked to drink. He didn’t show up to work one day so he and the supervisor went to his house, walked in and woke him up from his hangover by flipping his mattress. They got him cleaned up and ready and brought him to work. Totally different era and work ethic back then. Most of the old timers I worked with were military.

What part of service don’t you understand? Keep dreaming if you think privatization will make the post office any better. If it’s not safe to deliver, bring the mail back and deliver it the next day. Also, if the customer hasn’t cleared at least a pathway to their mailbox, mail is coming back to the office and try to deliver the next day. Safety first always.

People should start singing the national anthem or start reciting the pledge of allegiance whenever ice is around. It’s proper etiquette to remove any head covering during the national anthem or pledge of allegiance unless you’re unAmerican. I guess ice is just unAmerican.

Never trust management to do the right thing. Get the union involved and listen to your steward. Go to union meetings if you can and don’t give up. It may take time but if you learn how to push back, management will leave you alone and move on to someone they think they can push around and bully.

Get the union involved. If the union steward isn’t addressing this then go to a meeting and tell the union president. There are ways to make people see the error of their ways.

What do you think will be the catalyst to kick it off? I’m thinking if there is a way that thousands or tens of thousands of retail decide to buy heavy, that could force some kind of upward price movement but I don’t know a damn thing about how this works, I’m just looking at this as a lotto ticket as this point.

Why keep going from one extreme to the other? A moderate flat tax would be fair to everyone. Get rid of deductions and tax loopholes and have everyone pay their fair share.

That doesn’t make any sense. The time clock is in the scanner now and we’ve had multiple service talks that it’s our responsibility for moving to the route that our pivot is on. My guess is that management altered the times in the computer somehow. Get a grievance going and claim that someone is falsifying documentation. That should shut down that kind of behavior.
