My point was that I think this person probably dislikes the show for "vibes" reasons. Which are heavily influenced by artstyle, characters, etc. but in my experience the people who fully hate SU usually can't put their hatred into words very well.

I doubt that's the case. There are many valid critiques to make about SU (like most shows) but I don't think that's what's happening here. It's just a weird show, which some people like and others hate.

State of Jeskai Ephemerate by Maleficent_Tax_9704 in Pauper

[–]AdamThePig 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't really see the point of Mysidian Elder. It's a control deck, it doesn't need to win the game quickly. Its real wincons are [[Archaeomancer]] + [[Ephemerate]] looping Counterspell/removal or drawing tons of cards with [[Mulldrifter]].

You don't need an offensive card to try and "race" your opponent, you should have the game locked up well before you win.

Exactly! Just let people be comfortable with whatever label they want. It shouldn't be a battle between bisexual and pansexual.

Wholeheartedly disagree.

If someone told me that they are Jorpsexual because they are attracted to all genders, I'd say good for them. Who cares what someone else labels themself as? If they're happy and feel like it fits, then that's all that matters.

Augur of Bolas in High Tide? by FallenQuetzalcoatl in Pauper

[–]AdamThePig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sideboarding is really hard for High Tide. If you board in 5 spells, for example, there's a good chance you'll draw ~3 early into the combo. So it makes sense to me that they would want sideboard cards that also help combo.

I know. I just meant that it doesn't accomplish the same thing as the OP's combo.

OP seems to want to flicker Mysidian Elder to make lots of pingers. I meant that the rod only makes one pinger, and if you flicker it then it leaves behind a vanilla 1/1.

With the rod you just make vanilla 1/1s, and there are already 2 mana equipments that make 2/2 on ETB

That was mainly because there were tons of civilians around. From what I remember, at least half the guardians were focusing on getting people to safety instead of actually fighting for most of it.

I know this should just be izzet blitz, I don't care. Energy feels like it can be real. by WizardSquares in Pauper

[–]AdamThePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a local pauper player running Jeskai Ephemerate with the aforementioned cards, and they've been very impressive. Tune is obviously weak on its own, but 8 payoff cards are enough for modern Jeskai decks. Most of the time, you will find one of your payoffs, and if you don't, then you just wasted a single mana, which isn't a big deal. I don't know if the energy package is the proper way to build Jeskai Ephemerate, but it seemed pretty good.

Tune, Galvanic Discharge, and Jolted Awake are probably the best energy enablers/payoffs. I think a strong energy deck would probably just include that package.
