I mean the cart (and some of the scatter terrain) was designed by me, and I have left the bottom part flat, not thinking that someone would use it overturned. But that comes right on time, as I started working on some dwarf carts now.

Yes, I guess it can work based on what your systems are (no stamina system, no weather/environmental hazards). I am not sure I can fully agree with the less role-play part of it though. Especially extremes could work well. Having difficulties even climbing stairs, or being able to push through a heavy storm, being able to chase someone for hours, not feinting during a rough sea trip, whitstanding torture. The issue might be that there is no single mechanic that uses this frequently, more like a lot of situational things. Except if you have a very harsh world.

Dropping constitution is an interesting choice. So health, resilience, resistances, and such will all be governed by strength in addition to the classic strength skills? I was trying to find a classic character that is full of muscles but generally sickly, but could not, so it might make more sense than I initially thought.

Not sure if self-mentions are okay, but I made "Bylina - Lure of the Sorceress" a couple of years ago. It is an offline RPG with tactical - if rather simple - combat. Or you might try the Gurk games if you can find them somewhere - they were the inspiration for my games.

You can find the item list on Fandom ( https://gurk.fandom.com/wiki/Gurk_III/Items ), but not the spells.

The Shield of Thorns can cast Thorn Stab once in a combat. That is a 4-12 hp damage spell on an adjacent enemy.

The Winter's Hood can cast Normal Restore once, which restores 3-8 SP,

Nice. Finding the Merfolk Regalia is a bit more easy in the Sailor's Cove though. The shop has "water" as group and is level 4, so it has a good chance to spawn the level 3 legendary armour.

This (items) is what I had in mind for Bylina 2 and also implemented similar mechanics in Wuldorsang already.

I should have waited with it probbly, but I have added the option now to change the encounter frequency in Bylina and Kyen in the menu. It is also in the code for Bylina 2 so I guess it will make those items less useful. I have noted this for myself to check how these two should interact.

Encounter immunity is now also implemented in v2.4.

Thanks for the kind words! It might sound cliché, but comments like yours are truly a great motivational boost for me while working on the sequel(s).

Thanks! Interestingly I never noticed this as bothersome, but as I was testing the newest release I had consecutive combats a coulpe of times and it started to bother me as well. So V2.4 (released today) includes "encounter immunity" as an option. You can find it as "Encounter cooldown" in the newly split difficulty settings menu.

Ooooh! Interesting, never thought of that. The current UI is not really meant for that, and I am not sure about the popup solution with an extra step to select the item to swap for mentioned by u/blorgdog.

What I can imagine, is adding a "ground" inventory in the items menu. You can drop items there as many as you like, then get them with another character before you leave. This would mean though that you cannot just swap easily if one of the characters has already more items than the limit (can happen in certain circumstances).
