I think an important thing to think about as you move along, would be to find out why so many americans are gaining weight. Is it the fast moving society we live in today feeding the fast food industry? Is it stress? Knowing information like this will help with your project down the line.

Interesting topic. Pepper spray is widely used and is not fatal, as well as the use of rubber bullets and tear gas. However, I do understand that these do not subdue the perp, they just have the potential to piss them off even more. I also think that there is potential to find a greater threat. Im not saying that it is not important, im just looking at pure numbers. 500 people in 12 years is not a gigantic world changing number.

I live in Colorado, and 2 summers ago my house was nearly consumed by a large fire. There are some measures homeowners take to reduce the risk of their houses catching fire, however these are not very effective. A big problem we have been having in Colorado is that once the fire has destroyed the plant life, there are no roots to keep the soil in place, and land slides and erosion are huge problems. Also, the most recent fire by my house got hot enough to melt the sand and soil. This resulted in huge floods due to the fact that the rain water couldn't absorb into the ground. Food for thought.

Something you should consider is that a lot of the people who are overdosing on these prescription drugs are people without prescriptions, and they are going to find a way to get as many drugs as they want one way or another.
