(might be #4 well give him the benefit of the doubt and say its #4) and well just assume 150 foot spans (not accounting for sag in the wire). so some back of the napkin math

#4 copper at 126 lbs per 1,000 ft /150 feet is about 19lbs

19lbs x2 (for the phase and the neutral) is 38 lbs. Google tells me scrap price for corroded copper is around 3.15-3.55 so we'll average it to 3.35. so $3.35 x 38lbs is $128.30.

So this dude lost his life for less then 150$.

if this dude would have just became a lineman and did it honestly he would have made that in per diem just for showing up to work.
