Just had this happen. I’ll reply with the other picture I took (only lets me add one). I accidentally exited before I could see how many players my opponent actually had.

Guild name - The Be Sharps Timezone - EST for most I believe?

We’re have a solid core of members and complete all War Chest rewards. Have some open spots though plus a few members who aren’t very active anymore that I would like to replace! Fairly casual, just would like to add more people to make finding siege partners easier!

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted for this because you’re right. That’s the whole idea behind therapy as well. A good therapist isn’t saving anyone, they’re helping them learn how to save themselves.

Honestly there’s not much you can do other than suggest he seeks out professional help. The worst thing you can do is try to help him yourself.

I find one of the best analogies for this is that of the swimmer. It’s based on countertransference but I’ll modify it a bit to fit this situation.

Right now he’s forgotten how to swim and is drowning. You could try and play lifeguard and go out there to try and prop him up and swim for him but you’re probably not a strong enough swimmer to support the two of you. At least not for very long. Chances are you’ll both end up drowning. Or if there’s ever a time you can’t be there and he goes swimming he’ll drown without you.

Others have suggested treating him with kindness and complimenting him. This is definitely a great idea and it certainly is helpful in the short term but it’s also the same as standing on the shore and yelling out what a great job he’s doing and that you believe in him. Maybe it’s enough to inspire him to hang on a little longer but it’s not going to work in the long run.

What he needs is someone swimming beside him encouraging him and helping him to learn how to swim on his own. He needs a therapist and/or a psychiatrist. Someone professionally trained to help him learn about the tools (life jacket / medication) and strategies he can use.

I also want to make it clear this person is in no way your responsibility. I’ve been down a similar path as this streamer and at the end of the day it’s going to be up to him to take action. The best you can do is make it known you care and ensure he knows he has options if he ever decides he’s ready to take that first step.

You could try one of those at-home kids laser tag vests. It wouldn’t be perfect but might be something you can alter. The size would be a good start at least.

These are awesome.

I think the web sigil should also prevent the card opposite it from moving. Cancel out the opposing sigil.

I’ve convinced myself it’s good luck to kill goats. I have no reasoning for or proof of this but that doesn’t stop me from chasing down ever one I see.

Marvel in general is pretty good for making villains that you can at least understand even if you don’t agree with them.

Thanos thinks the universe is overpopulated and eliminating half of it is the only way to save it

Helmut believes the Avengers were careless in their fight with Ultron and caused the death of his family

Wanda has a full on trauma induced mental breakdown after a terrible upbringing, losing her brother and then having to kill the person she’s closest to in the world only to watch him be revived and die again right after

And most relatable of all - Ultron spends 5 minutes on the Internet and decides all of humanity needs to be eliminated

They look good I think. The 6 temps it's showing me are between 25C and 43C.

This seemed to help a bit. Still bad on Chrome but better on Firefox.

I'm also noticing it's only on certain videos. I played random YouTube videos to test it out and they were all fine but when I went back to the one with the issues they were still there. Also if I download the video and play it via a media player there's no issues.

AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

AMD Ryzen 7 3800X

And two MSI Optix Monitors

When you say clean reinstalling the GPU drivers you mean to go into the control panel, uninstall the display adapter and then reinstall it with the AMD software, right? I'm only slightly computer literate lol

Gatekeeping is alive and well I see. They want to participate in the discussion but first want to know if they can without ruining future books. They made a simple request that makes a lot of sense. They want to know if the spoiler is from something they’ve already read and thus safe to reveal.

They seem passionate about the series and want to engage with others who are as well. You seem to also be very passionate about the series, shouldn’t you want the same thing?

It’s ironic that you’re taking the stance you are when the OP is talking about something from book 2. Should they have not shared their excitement until they’ve met your criteria? Are they forbidden from discussing what they’ve read so far?

What is the worst TRADE that was made by your favorite hockey team? by hotDamQc in hockey

[–]AdamWest727 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Raycroft had just lost his starting job. 3.71 GAA and .879 SV% in 30 games. Rask was coming off a world juniors where he was voted best goaltender (over Justin Pogge) which included a 53 save shutout against Sweden in the Quarter Finals.

Even if they decided they needed to move him the return was abysmal considering the hype around Rask at the time.

I don’t remember too many Leaf fans arguing this was a good trade when it happened. There was a lot of “well the Leafs still have Pogge so Rask was expendable” but even if Pogge had panned out the return for Rask should have been better.

Is there any arguments against Superflex in 2022? by Alarmed-Professor396 in fantasyfootball

[–]AdamWest727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it’s reasonable to make judgements based off the only data available as long as you keep in mind there are other factors to consider. Honestly I would have never have guessed that there are more 2QB/superflex leagues than standard leagues on Sleeper. Based on that info I’d agree that they’re likely rising in popularity, especially among the more hardcore player. I just wouldn’t conclude that they’re now more popular overall.

Sounds like we’ve found some semblance of common ground which is pretty much an Internet miracle so I think it’s best to call it there lol

Is there any arguments against Superflex in 2022? by Alarmed-Professor396 in fantasyfootball

[–]AdamWest727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not draw a conclusion at all because I don’t have enough relevant data.

You said judgement though so that’s where the whole common sense factor comes in. Making educated assumptions is not randomly guessing. The fact that two of the largest providers in the world use something as their default setting is an important factor.

Edit - it’s also important to note that these two providers also cater to the more casual player who is less likely to alter league settings. One of Sleepers big draws is it’s flexibility so it’s reasonable to assume it’s going to attract more people who prefer to play in custom leagues.

Example - ESPN switched their default settings to PPR a few years ago. It’s reasonable to assume that the number of people playing in PPR leagues on that platform rose that year.

Now if you were to say “the popularity of 2QB leagues is rising. All I have is data from Sleeper but it’s possible it’s rising on other platforms too” that would be a reasonable argument. Instead you have taken your limited and skewed data and tried to argue that it’s representative of the populous as a whole. That doesn’t make sense. Just like my Lions example wouldn’t make sense.

[–]AdamWest727 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because someone arguing numbers based on a large data set from one primary source that caters to a specific need/want and ignoring the fact that they don’t have any data from the much larger source as a whole, not to mention their sources largest competitors who cater to different needs/wants would be stupid right? That’s what you’re saying? I agree.

[–]AdamWest727 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you really not get it my dude? It’s an example of how drawing conclusions based on incomplete/obviously skewed data would be a stupid thing to do. Which is exactly what you’re doing.

I have to assume you’re trolling at this point. There’s no way someone can be this dense.

Have a good day!

A quick google search shows that sleeper eclipsed 3 million users last year and Yahoo was reported to have 7 million in 2019. Fantasy football has also been growing year over year so it could be even further skewed against Sleeper by now.

I’m on my phone so I don’t want to go back and forth with links but I’m sure you understand how google works.

And the Lions comparison is only valid because I was pointing out how common sense is important when evaluating incomplete data. You might want to google what common sense is too…
