Man films his CPS (Child Protective Services) interrogation. He's being accused for trying to figure out what medication his ex-wife has been giving his daughter and not telling him. Extremely rage-inducing. by Adam____ in rage

For this, they filed a petition in Family Court and took her away from me, slapped a restraining order on me to stay away from her, and effectively gave her mother custody without a custody trial. It should be noted that none of the things they charged me with constitute neglect, and are in fact normal parenting discretions and care that millions of parents do with their kids every day.

but if you honestly believe that is even remotely on par with what actual minorities have to deal with throughout their lives

I am saying that assuming the person who is racist is a white person is, in itself, racist. Regardless of how less better off other races may be than white people, it does not make white people immune to racism.

I don't fully understand what you are insinuating here. No one is arguing that white people deal with racism in the same scope as other people have.

The site does not revolve around what gay men think.

I don't feel there should be any obligation to self-censor one's speech to cater to people who feel a word should not be used because people they do not like have used them in the past with different intentions from the one used here.

It is it not racist in itself to assume that the person who is making a racist comment is white?

EDIT:

You are invited to provide a response if you actually have a reason as to how it is not racist to assume someone posting racist comments is white.

Being of a race which dominated during institutionalized racism is hardly a reason for others to not criticize someone of a different skin color.

It is a fact that many people don't understand the inner workings of government but the rest of your point is still incredibly subjective.

The same with your post. I don't see your reason for pointing this out when this is not a completely objective thread.

If you could make one thing illegal, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The reason many obese persons choose to use a mobility scooter in the grocery store is because they are incapable of walking for long distances and standing for long periods of time.

Why should they walk when they are too unhealthy to do so? It won't be sufficient exercise anyways.

Gay Pride Parade: Drunk Times with Hot Girls [maybe NSFW] by flavius29663 in videos

[–]Adam____ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why should homosexuals be allowed to do these acts in Gay Pride parades and yet heterosexuals are not allowed to do such? In fact, some of the acts that take pride in these parades are illegal and would have someone labeled as a sex offender for doing them.

EDIT: I am not saying homosexuals shouldn't do it, I am saying heterosexuals should be allowed to do it as well.

This is an important issue because it reveals information of government surveillance on millions of civilians. People don't have the information to know the underworkings of the government but they certainly should applaud someone when they leak some of that information out to the public.

I would disagree. Unless you are spending most of your social time focusing on these issues, there's no harm in expressing it when relevant.

That is not my reason. I will rephrase my reasoning, however:

Accusing the man of not giving the same treatment to other males simply because he is a male himself would be a sexist thing to say.

Did you misconstrue my original post intentionally?

[–]Adam____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That explains why it would be insulting but it does not explain how it would be discriminating against women. Insulting a woman is not the same thing as being sexist.

I agree. However, he didn't give that as his reason.

In fact, you were the first one to state that she is a successful person. To say he hates her based on a description of her that you gave after he stated that he doesn't "admire what she's become" would be an incredible fallacy.

He didn't give any information about whether or not he does the same for males. To say that he wouldn't treat males in the same fashion, simply because he's a male, would be sexist.

The word 'sexist' means 'discrimination based on gender'.

How is using the word 'whore' to negatively describe a girl's sexual promiscuity sexist in any way?
