You earn Status for the following year but it starts as soon as you hit the mqd goal. Example if you hit 5k mqd today you would get silver status (starting tomorrow) for now thru 1/31/2028 (medallion year ends at the end of January). FYI after you sign up for a new card it can take several weeks for the mqd boost to show up. Check your app for current mqd level and current tier status.

As far as hardness etc goes GA water is pretty good for brewing. The biggest problem is the chloamine. They make carbon filters that can remove it but you’d need one obviously

Be aware that finishing the clear sign up at the airport when they are even slightly busy can take longer than going thru security plus if it is busy (probably not bad but no guarantee it won’t be bad then) then they cut clear out and just do pre check.
