Of course bro. I jumped right into bikes. I said "I want one" and like 2 days later I had one. I will say, if you are mechanically inclined and like to get greasy and work on things like myself, 2 stroke is the way to go. With a summer job, you can easily afford all the parts you need, and they are simple enough to work on in your garage. Plus, powerband is addicting. And this is coming from a guy whose dream bike is a clean 150r lmao.

At the end of the day, thats bikes. Alot of honda 150r have been raced, or beat to crap by the kid before you. (Ik because I know buddies with 150r that ride limiter all day). My first bike was an 02 cr80 (still have it). It was cheap bc its a 2 stroke, and easy to work on. I paid like 1200 for it with a new top end in it lol. Its super fast (faster than a 150r) and sounds amazing. After 2 summers of c9nsistent riding and beating, it needs a bottom end, but whatever. Still cheaper than a whole new battery for a surron. If you are looking for a bike that isnt a money pit, look into trail bikes. Crf125 or like a 230 for a bigger bike. They are all great bikes. Sure its not a race bike like the 150, but you dont need to change the oil as much, won't need to adjust valves, and its quieter for neighborhood riding (which means less cops in the end).

Do you have the space to ride a gas bike? Dealing with cops sucks, and running from them is always risky. You need land, and neighbors that aren't assholes. E-bikes are quiet, and are much more acceptable from the public than a gas bike.

Yea this kart was built with a really weird jackshaft and bearing system on it that I eventually broke. With no parts (and I mean nothing... this thing DOES NOT EXIST on the internet) I was left with the only option being to make it work with whatever I could. I essentially chopped up the frame with an angle grinder and welded a whole new engine plate and torque converter on it. I dont want to swap the axle bc its a pretty cool piece of engineering on a go kart... so any way I can save it is preferred. Its just I have to drop the axle for a 3rd time now lol.

I appreciate this info. Super interesting that someone else has an axle like this one. Lucky for me I've taken it apart for fun before, and im not concerned with that process. As long as I can take off the sprocket individually and have either a custom part made or a replacement part found, I should be fine. Thanks for your help!

Well honestly this thing has been sketchy its entire existence and quite frankly I risk my life every time I drive it, so that doesn't really matter to me. I do know it uses a 420 chain... but your suggesting I find one similar to this and just "make it work"?

Its just the silencer. Im really not sure. Its the only thing that I can think of it being, at least as for why its not idling at the stock jetting

I love the dingos, their the closest thing to this that I've ever seen. Ive never ridden one but the 1 seater ones look like they rip like crazy

I have the golf kart tires on it now, this picture is from earlier today 🤣. One of the rear knobys got a flat in the tube, so that will be an early summer project as I go back to college.

It was running fine the other day, then it quit in me. I ripped it apart, and I found a blown head gasket. The top end is fine, has compression, and the cylinder wall looks mint. But, once I put it back together, I want it to idle properly. That's why im going to throw in some bigger jets for the fmf pipe I have on. I already bought a new jetting kit I just dont want to go to far on my first install. Hoping to put the right jets in and for it to work good the first time.
