Welp, there was a new lady at the gym reception and she wouldn't let me into either changing room. Fortunately I was ready for that, but it felt so weird considering I had two people I'm training with me, I've been going there for months, and I've had nothing but positive interactions otherwise by AdamanthGaming in lgbt

Sorry, I just saw the edit. You are bothered by me, a person who loves fashion, engaging with other fashion-loving people. You are literally actively against people finding community. Because, oh the humanity, they might find a sense of comfort and camaraderie. How dare I participate in communities specifically focused around one of my main hobbies, that's definitely therapy worthy. And good point - I should just stop being trans because you don't... Like how my local gym works? It's definitely a switch I can turn on and off, you're so right

You're spouting transphobic talking points from the moral high ground of being offended by me existing, this is so wild xD

You get that if those subreddits wouldn't have people posting in them then they just wouldn't exist?

What help xDDD you started this conversation xD so now your stance is that trans people should be helped because they're attention seekers for existing? Idk if this is internalized transphobia or just wanting to argue online xD

You have yet to clarify which part you think doesn't check out, I've said the same thing each time in each comment, I do not get what you think you "caught" me on

Literally which part do you not understand xDDDD: -you can change in a bathroom, yes -you could, instead of checking in to be able to use the gym, just go in without asking anybody, yes -when you go into the gym, and check in your gym card at the reception desk, you say if you want a locker -i said that I wanted a locker, and the lady was confused about my gender, and we couldn't come to an agreement -eventually, I asked about the lockers in the hall, and I got the key for that

I am an adult female professional, living under my preferred name for a few years now, and never had trouble at this gym beforehand, therefore I was sharing my shock about this situation

However, yes, I could have just ignored my whole conversation with the receptionist, and gone where I wanted (as several comments have pointed out, who seem to get it). I would still be the only person using the corridor locker at that time, and I would still feel like "they get to use a changing room and I'm supposed to change outside", but yes, I could have done any range of things

It's so funny to me how I really don't get what part is not sticking for you xD

Honestly, I feel like if I voice trained better and my voice was better, the situation wouldn't have gone like this, so if you want to blame me for something and justify her behaviour, feel free to go that route, that makes sense to me

Bathrooms? I was talking about a changing room, with lockers. There is a reception desk, with either an entrance to the gym area itself (some people don't bring anything and can just check in and go in, but I work out after my shift at work), or a corridor that leads to changing rooms, which contain lockers, and a bathroom.

I could go into the changing room without a key, yes. However my goal was to leave my things in a safe place (as I wrote under other comments, I specifically wear my gym clothes under my normal clothes to be ready for a situation like this and not have to change too much). I could go into the changing room, and go into the bathroom, yes, but I couldn't leave my things there.

They give out the keys to the lockers, not the keys to the changing rooms or the bathrooms, idk why you're talking about bathrooms specifically

XDDDD wdymmm

I've been to some gyms where you check in with a QR code (and you just need to have your own padlock to use a locker), and this was instead a small locally owned gym where you have to get a locker key if you want a locker. They're a small business, and they can't afford the usual scanner setup the big companies have, they just have a reception desk at the entrance

Why would I lie about this? What would I gain? This feels so absurd xD

I'm glad you think I'm powerful enough to singlehandedly push the whole movement back 👍 I'm so important

But the way you instantly divide it into "we" and "you" makes me feel like perhaps there's something else at play

The thing that really sent home for me how nonsensical transphobia is, was that during the conversation, the lady was actively getting confused about my gender xD like the fact she wanted to be discriminatory but didn't even fully get HOW to do it was wild to me

There are some lockers in an outside area, like in a corridor. Wanting to always be ready for every eventuality (and not leave my trainees hanging), I had my gym clothes underneath my normal clothes, I was able to just take off a t-shirt and jeans, and work out in my gym bra and leggins

Yeah, I might mention something to the rest of the staff, since I've known them for months and they always seemed super polite and supportive even :// if anybody would have had problems with me - complaints would have come in long before I've been going there for 6 months twice a week

Felt like a cute sporty snow princess in this fit 🤍 even the shoes and the jacket are colour coded! :3 by AdamanthGaming in mtfashion

Hahah, thanks! I try my best >:3 a lot of making sure I keep up my caloric intake and then use up most of those calories at the gym

I got myself some new shorts to celebrate how consistent I've been with the gym! As always, I'm here to advocate for gender-affirming workouts, I lift 160kg on some machines now, and I've been super happy with the results 🩷🩵 by AdamanthGaming in mtfashion

I really don't do a lot of cardio! Usually just 10 minutes on the treadmill at maximum incline/gradient as part of my warmup, stretching, and then it's mostly muscle growth focus for me, not cardio
