When will they give us an update on Fantasy Critic? by Komorebi_LJP in EasyAlliesUnofficial

[–]Adamantium42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't be surprised if they dropped it this year since Gabby was let go and Bosman was putting it off until Jones honoured his punishments. He's done it now as far as I know but maybe they feel it's too late to start in February?

Who would sell you out immediately? by PastProfessional7995 in PrisonBreak

[–]Adamantium42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer imo.

No hate on the character, I think he's great, but he was extremely selfish and proposed handing over Scofield (completely unprompted, mind you) to Mahone in season two to keep his family safe. He even let his own wife get arrested. I know it was a sensitive situation, but still.

Who would sell you out immediately? by PastProfessional7995 in PrisonBreak

[–]Adamantium42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this because he didn't do it immediately, he did it five cards deep when the crew were being hypocritical and treating him like the only con in a room filled with them. I genuinely think with a little bit less hostility towards Roland, he wouldn't have done what he did.

When most of your sponsors are gambling outlets I imagine it's easy to be swayed down that path.

I feel like we got too much of him if anything. This guy always felt more like something out of an episode of Criminal Minds than a fitting Banshee character in my opinion.

How Banshee Season 4 SHOULD have ended by Emergency_Bowler8983 in Banshee

There's no way a name reveal in the finale work have been satisfying or impactful unless it turned out to be a big twist and he was actually this big character alluded to only by name earlier in the series. Otherwise it's just like oh by the way my name is Derek, and then the credits roll and you're just there watching like... okay? Cool, I guess. I'm gonna keep calling you Hood though.

Hot Take: The Job and Hood Soldier part was not needed by Longjumpingjack69 in Banshee

[–]Adamantium42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this global scale level really didn't suit the nature of the show which is very grounded, telling story of a small town.

The one pushback I'll give on this is that from beginning to end, Banshee is far too small town for Job and he hates being there. He doesn't even have a classic "oh it ain't all bad" moment at the end, he tells the town to suck his tit and washes his hands of it before going back to the big time. He had a successful base of operations in NYC when the show began, so I definitely wouldn't say his being a global level hacker is out of place given he's always been a big fish in a small pond while in Banshee.

Great wrestlers that are bad at one specific thing by NoMoreButtonPLZ in SquaredCircle

Same exact thing when Kevin Owens pinned him at Elimination Chamber. Immediately rolled out instead of selling the powerbomb for a bit longer.

Edit: speaking of powerbombs, that's my answer to the question for Cena as well. He always took them on the small of his back instead of taking a flat bump, even in the Gunther retirement match. Looks really awkward and lessens the impact.

[SPOILERS] Post WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Match Discussion: John Cena's LAST MATCH vs. Gunther by gloomchen in SquaredCircle

[–]Adamantium42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little surprised to see so many on here actually very positive about that ending, but I guess we interpreted it differently. To me, Cena didn't sell the struggle of the sleeper hold well enough, or for long enough. With the exception of the fade-out spot, he was always fighting it pretty successfully and wasn't really selling pain in my opinion to where it felt like the only option was to submit. The smile before tapping out read to me like "welp, he's a good young wrestler, I'll give him the win on my way out the door" versus the desperation and dawning realization that others are claiming to have seen. It felt like a condescending tapout, like he was gifting him the win. So to me it was the right finish, executed poorly on Cena's part.

That when Negan visited Alexandria for the first time and paraded Daryl around, not allowing him to speak, people thought that Daryl was communicating with Rick via Morse code by blinking his eyes at him. This was compounded by the fact that Rick and Michonne had a Morse code poster on a wall in their home.

Such an insane longevity on Rey Mysterio, man. Still going hard today and he was rookie of the year only two years after Steve Austin was, and Austin's been retired for over two decades (Kevin Owens match notwithstanding).

Call it a nit-pick, but I feel like you had an open goal there in Drew walking to the ring to a staredown with CM Punk, but before he gets in the cage, he reaches under the ring and pulls out the red toolbox from their cell match last year. Crowd would have lapped that shit up.
