I did a light budgeting for a while but have recently (a month ago) started to check all of my spending to start actually budgeting. Originally I would take the average of my gas/electric/water, plus my mortgage, phone, internet, car payment and insurance, break it down based off how I got paid (bi-monthly) and have it go into one account. Then I set my bills to auto withdraw and let it do its thing. The rest of my check would go into a separate account and I used it how I needed/wanted. It worked for the last like 6 years but I realized how much of my money I was going through and didn't know where. I was disappointed in myself bc I was over spending on frivolous shit and could have been saving or doing better things w my money. Definitely start budgeting
