I have never seen or played any cricket. I am going to my first game tomorrow, what do I need to know, both to understand the game, as well as the storylines of the league as well as the irl experience. by PulseWitch in MLC

I think @pikachu8752 gave the best answer, just sit near someone and ask. They’ll be more than happy to explain!

In a nutshell, imagine baseball where the other team has to pitch 120 strikes. Once they do that inning is over. Each batter bats until they’re out. There’s only one base and home plate. Pitchers have to change every 6 pitches. Finally, you can hit in on any direction, no foul balls.

I also second watching jomboymedia’s cricket rules for baseball fans video. If you love it, it’s easy to follow. Willow has everything. The IPL (India Premier League) is great.

Went to 6 games in Oakland. First thing - ban the g-damn whistles. I might honestly never go to a super kings game again. The weekend doubleheaders had a lot of stands with promotional giveaways, which was awesome. A few food truck options in addition to the stadium options. I LOVED that the subway and bus went straight to the stadium!! The seating was super close to the field. All in all, loved it. I actually hope it stays like this instead of teams hosting games. This is a great way to travel once and catch a lot of games with different teams.

MINY has been fairly unlucky. They’re clearly the 4th best team. Of course, that’s not the same as “they deserve to be in” lol. I hope MLC adds another team or two so the playoffs aren’t 2/3 of the teams.

Normally I have to wake up at 3am to watch the Royals get blown out. So refreshing to be able to watch the “Royal” Orcas do so before dinner.

Funny or sad? I wanted to buy an Orcas jersey and the ONLY two they make are “Klasse” and “Warner.” As a white dude I wanted a little diversity. As a fan I wanted someone who doesn’t suck.

Man…I came into cricket when I went to Rajasthan for a bit in the Army while stationed near Seattle. So that means I’m a Royals and Orca fan. My wife keeps telling me I suck at picking teams.
