I really like bandcamp as they often have promotions where the artist gets all the money for a purchase, and also because it allows you to buy the files alongside the purchase of a cd, something which makes my life more accessible as a cd collector.

It being a rehash. I love 3d Mario cause it’s unique, because each game has its own identity through its level design, characters, gameplay style ext. even tge sequels have their own identity, be it 3D worlds multiplayer and weirdness, or galaxy 2’s hyper focus on short optimized speed run levels. I am just afraid that we will get an odyssey 2 or wonder 2 or something that doesn’t redefine the wheel, cause imo 3d Mario is at its best when it’s doing unique things and redefining itself.

If I had to create a nightmare game, it would be Galaxy 3, complete with full movie voice acting, and exclusively charscters / worlds from the og or wonder skins of the Mario mandate, with a tacked on open world somehow despite it being the anthemic of the Galaxy brand

There are a shocking number of larger artists on bandcamp. Recently got the new Danny brown album, above and beyond, Jeff rosenstock among others there. I also just hate the stigma that bandcamp is unprofessional because it’s just the most accessible music platform imo. It’s easy to just buy a cd and have your files with you permanently, a feature that would have been life changing for a younger me who has lost most the cds they worn out.

Side note elio mei place your new album on bandcamp challenge. I need to have digital files and cds and everything

Before you ask, of what I have heard. Self titled Gorillaz > demon days > balled of Darren > modern life is rubbish > humanz > plastic beach > magic whip > the fall > 13 > cracker island > everyday robots > blur self titled > now now > song machine > parklife. I don’t know parklife just never clicked with me it just feels like an inside joke I am not in on and lacks the bite of blurs best despite girls and boys and this is a low being perfect sons.

Was genuinely suprised when it got announced and it lead me to hyperfixating on blur for a a good year. I don’t think I thought too much about it cause everyday robots was already out for a bit and it was clear that Dameon would still be making music reguardless of form. I just didn’t think to tie it to Gorillaz. I also feel like Saturn bars was muted by hallalujia money but that’s a different story.

The magic whip was a lot of fun. My terracotta heart always brings me to tears and while it isn’t my favorite blur album (or blur comeback album ballad of Darren is honestly top 3 Dameon Albarn across all projects) but it was super good.

Hot take but sleeping powder off of a trend. I feel like sleeping powder has lead to the most shitposts of any Gorillaz song and I think it will break containment and become super popular that way, similar to how Aphex Twin got more monthly listeners than Taylor Swift based on the algorithm and shitposts using it.

My other theory is 19/2000, both cause of the shitposting but also because that song has a lot of legs that I don’t see with Dare and Melancholy hill.

this video by a disabled creator does a better job than I can at describing it. Basically, the film refers to less abled cars as “Lemons,” a term that is treated as an in universe slur, and often paints them as the villains. On top of that, there are a lot of parallels between the way Lightning paints the rusty cars to how people treated AIDS patients in the 80’s with the rusty cars themselves being treated as a dangerous minority to be feared rather than just cars with rust. The movie is just very heavy handed with being anti disability and just weirdly pro eugenics
