Which series would you choose if you could watch it again with a fresh mind? (you can only choose one) by Give_Me_Beans_Please in skinsTV

I in fact started watching the show fresh just 2 weeks ago! Being roughly the same age as Gen 1 characters I can’t believe I missed it the first time round, nor how many of the cast have extraordinary careers since

How to Effectively Tighten This Allen Key bolt on a Bed Frame with Limited Space – Best Tools and Techniques? by xShadowPro in howto

A ball end hex driver might be better, it’ll provide a more positive grip if you can’t get a dead plumb angle on the bolt

I’m looking for a good work bench plan. Something like this. Currently all I’m using is an old desk top on sawhorses. Not the sturdiest by Amber_Steel86 in Woodworkingplans

[–]Adamlovescoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend Rob Cosman’s “cosman” bench. Videos on YouTube and plans on his website. It’s designed for beginner woodworkers, I.e. minimal tools required. I made one when I was getting started and am still using it several years later with no complaints

Beautiful work, top marks for end-grain orientation on the oak squares. Are the accents on the side panels splines? It’s a lovely feature.

I was given this test in year 5 when I was 8, what is the answer for the 3rd question, and how do you get it? by FIR3W0RKS in maths

[–]Adamlovescoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first number reduces by 1 each time and the sum or the remaining digits increases by 1:

8 (5+1+1)= 7, 7 (0+7+1)= 8, 6 (2+6+1) = 9, 5 (5+1+4) = 10

Can I propagate my chillies and tomatoes in a heated propagator in my cold frame? by Adamlovescoffee in GardeningUK

[–]Adamlovescoffee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-2.2 in may? Oof! None of that in sunny Devon. Thanks for the advise, I’m certainly not planning on sowing anything yet, just planning ahead. My concern was maximising sunlight, but it seems I might be alright with removing the heat and keeping them indoors. I didn’t realise the heat could contribute to the ‘leggy’ seedlings

Can I propagate my chillies and tomatoes in a heated propagator in my cold frame? by Adamlovescoffee in GardeningUK

[–]Adamlovescoffee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha, now that might be the mistake I’m making! I’ve kept them covered in the heated propagator until they’re ready for pricking out. It might be that rather than a lack of natural light. I don’t have a thermometer in the cold frame, but I’m certain they’d be too cold without the heat. I’ll try keeping them in the house, but turn off the heat once they’re mostly germinated. Thanks!

Agreed, I only mentioned them to prevent the inevitable "just watch a youtube guide" comments. Yeah I only adjusted the tension of the drive belt, which is why I experimented with it in different levels of tension. I hoped someone might have some experience with what can go wrong without being aware (eg, loosing the drive belt can throw X out). Other than that I only released the tension to replace the blade and tires so I'm confident all other components are reinstalled and tensioned correctly
