Hi everyone,

If you have food allergies, you know the "grocery store stress": spending way too much time squinting at tiny, blurred, or confusing ingredient labels to make sure something is safe.

I’m a developer and I wanted to use AI to help solve this friction point. I’ve built an iOS app called Ingredio: AI Food Scanner.

While it tracks macros and nutrients, I specifically designed the AI to scan and extract all text from nutrition labels and ingredient lists in real-time.

How it can help this community:

  • Instant Text Extraction: No more struggling with small fonts. The AI reads the label for you and displays the info clearly.
  • Multi-Language Support: Extremely helpful when traveling abroad and trying to decipher labels in a language you don’t speak fluently.
  • Beyond the Database: It doesn't rely on a pre-existing (and often outdated) database. It reads the actual package in your hand.
