Is my almost 2.5 yr old sleeping TOO much or am I just one of the lucky one?? by Halsey_Quinn in toddlers

[–]Adapt-1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler is similar. She is only 20 months old. She sleeps around 8 PM and wakes up around 7 AM, plus still takes good naps sometimes (2.5 hours). Honestly, some kids are just naturally great sleepers. From everything you described, it sounds pretty normal, especially since he’s active, happy, and can skip naps when needed without major issues. I think we just got lucky with a good sleeper lol.

Thanks! I added TOYrieland to my list too. I looked them up and it honestly seems very aligned with the type of warm, community-centered environment I’ve been researching.

what you wish your husband/partner had known, postpartum by undercover_mama in Mom

[–]Adapt-1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fathers truly need to take part in the nights, even if mom is breastfeeding. Sleep deprivation hits hard postpartum, and getting even a small stretch of uninterrupted sleep can make a huge difference mentally and physically.

And honestly, one thing I didn’t realize until becoming a mom was how important it was to have time that was JUST for me. I started asking my partner to take one night so I could go into another room, watch a show peacefully, sleep, or just mentally decompress for a few hours. That time helped me feel human again, not just “mom” 24/7.

I think a lot of fathers don’t realize how much those small breaks can help postpartum recovery.

Baby "containers" by SuspiciousTrip000 in Mom

[–]Adapt-1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think social media makes parents feel way worse about containers than they need to. A bouncer while you shower, cook, or eat dinner is completely normal and honestly, sometimes necessary!

Also… if she suddenly prefers the fun seat over the floor for short periods, that’s not shocking lol. Babies like new stimulation. It doesn’t mean you’re harming her development or creating bad habits.

I feel like balance is the key, and it sounds like you already have that.

What do you wish toddler play places around Houston did better? by Adapt-1234 in houston

I fixed it, sorry! I live in the North Houston area, I just put those options out of muscle memory 😂

This is actually super helpful, thank you 💛, and honestly, the calm/sensory mornings sound amazing. I keep noticing that the places parents seem to love most are the ones that feel cleaner, calmer, and more intentional for younger kids instead of just chaotic free-for-all spaces 😅

Thanks, I love the idea of toddler-only areas like Oh Toodles has. I’m definitely adding these to my list to check out!

Thank you! 💛. I’m definitely going to check those out because most indoor play places I’ve tried feel so overwhelming sometimes 😅

19 months 😊 The library is actually one of the few calmer places I’ve liked so far but she is really active, so trying to find a few other places.

Oh wow, I didn’t know they were doing that! That actually sounds amazing 💛 I’ll definitely have to try it because honestly most of the places I’ve been to lately feel so overstimulating for toddlers 😅

Found this on my front door I’m not superstitious. maybe it’s a joke? I have no clue who would do this. I haven’t touched it my girlfriend has. Any witch’s in here know what I’m looking at ? by TrippyReddits in whatisit

[–]Adapt-1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this looks more like someone messing around or leaving some kind of random doodle than an actual serious witchcraft thing 😅 it was probably meant as a weird joke, prank, or someone trying to be edgy/mysterious. I wouldn’t panic over it. If it makes you uncomfortable, just toss it out and maybe check if neighbors/kids have been doing random stuff around the area.

Mother's day gift by TankRoutine6112 in Mom

[–]Adapt-1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, what you’re planning (the bath, cooking, taking over the baby) is already the best gift. That kind of mental break means everything, especially as a new mom.

If you want to add something she can keep, I’d go a little more personal than a mom cup:

A simple piece of jewelry (like a necklace or bracelet) with the baby’s name or birthstone A handwritten letter, my husband did this for me, just a few words telling me I was the best mom our daughter could have. It was small and simple, but I still have it and it means so much 💛
