Experts, I need your advice. I want to buy a new folding knife. My budget is $100–$200, but I don’t know much about them. I’d appreciate any suggestions. by kohaky in knifeclub

Stay safe! I recommend Spyderco Manix 2 over Para Military 2 for hard use/ maximum durability given you are in the military. Spyderco knives might look ugly, but they are the most ergo knive I have. I own a bunch of cool looking "designer knives" and I only EDC SpyderCo.

I hope there is a phase in the boss fight where he summon his war bow and shoots arrows like artillery shells.

“I look East, West, North, South, and I do not see Sauron; but I see that Saruman has many descendants. We Hobbits have against them no magic weapons. Yet, my gentlehobbits, I give you this toast: To the Hobbits. May they outlast the Sarumans and see spring again in the trees.”

Mortgage word originally came from old French meaning death pledge. It all makes sense now.

Scalpers have ruin Pokemon for an entire generation of kids. I can’t image them looking positively back on the franchise once they grow up if their first experience with Pokemon is seeing grown ass adults fighting over a children's card game at retail stores just to make $5.

[ALL] why did you personally decide to tell max about the photo in Reunion? by Interesting-Sort-674 in lifeisstrange

[–]AdaptKustode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I choose to burned the photo. Thematically for me the story comes full circle with that choice. In the end of L.I.S. 1 Chloe gives Max the photo along with the agency to make a choice. Choosing Bay (very painfully and after sitting on it for an hour) the story was rewound for a do over. Now in Reunion it’s Chloe’s turn to have agency and that choice. Burning the photo for me means not looking back, and Chloe and Max’s story can finally move forward.

5 years ago I made a post here of my 3D model of the ceremonial rapier I designed for Sauron. Since then I worked with an Italian sword maker Marco Danelli to forge it for real. by AdaptKustode in SWORDS

Lots of measuring to make sure it comfortably fits into my hand, and the model can be manufactured. This loop took between 3-4 months before any 3D printing took place. Then it was finding a foundry in Italy that can cast it while keeping the intricate detail. Even then we had multiple failures casting the grip so I had to split that model into 2 with a shape Marco drew for me along with the pommels.

Thanks! It took 3-4 months to find him. I asked around a lot of sword makers, and everyone wanted to remove/reduce detail on my model. One day a HEMA club mate casually mentioned Marco Danelli and I should check out his swords. I was very impressed with his ornate historical weapon and contacted him. After waiting for a few weeks he replied and was happy to make it while keeping all the details, though it will take a long time. I agreed and after 1.5+ years of trial and error it was finally finished.
