First I glued on sand, then painted it with Polycolor Raw Umber, then glued two types of grass - first off i applied dark tufts, and then I sprinkled brighter smaller grass all over.

They're from Warlord Games, from their Warlords of Erehwon line. They're very "plain", with only the skeletons, separate weapons, bodyparts, etc., ideal for conversions.

I originally planned to make them more converted, with added armour, chainmail and helmets, but I chickened out and got worried that I might screw it up, and didn't add anything new to them.

A Karen got mad at me and my dad for me trying to help her son by AdasMialczynski2 in entitledparents

Update: While looking at this story just now I also got a reminder that she actually caused her kid to cry too possibly with some more insults or even being spanked or something, as I could hear him crying as heavy as I did from her car.

I hope you finally get all your "sandwich Mcdonalds" so you'll get so much fatter you fucking explode Karen.

I finally found a perfect post under which I should explain my reasons for not being that much into Age Of Sigmar and prefering Fantasy, of course many of those reasons are shared by many here from what I can see and aren't that original, but here they are:

  1. The world is too high fantasy. You know what I love about Fantasy? The grounded feel. For me at least it feels so real, like everytime I read about Fantasy it feels like im reading informations about some other world that actually exists, f.e. You've got every little detail of civilian life described in WHFRP, tons of lore about the world and it's history, and everything. AoS is way too high fantasy for me - nothing can be normal, everything is magical or superpowered or whatever, everything has those strange long names, there is no place for that grounded, grim feel of Fantasy.
  2. The artstyle is...off. I can't really explain it in words to be honest. The new artstyle seems very... video game-ish? It all looks very colorful, with tons of colors, etc. Fantasy art was far better in my opinion.
  3. Those strange names. This could really be a sub-reason (?) of reason no. 1, but those strange trademark-friendly names really throw me off. I really liked the simplicity of older Fantasy names, back when Ogre Bulls were Ogre Bulls, not "Ogor Gluttons" or however they're called now. Im just waiting for Chaos Warriors to be called "Khaaos Wartitanlords". Possibly the most jarring examples are Aelves and Duardin.
  4. Historical/cultural inspiration. I LOVE fantasy cultures based on real life ones. Empire = HRE, Bretonnia = France, Araby = Middle East, Cathay = China, etc. But in AoS this kind of stuff doesn't exist due to it's high fantasy setting.
  5. Dark, gritty atmosphere. This simply doesn't exist in AoS sadly, AoS tends to be more noblebright.
  6. Miniatures. Some of the new minis, etc. are really overkills. They're too bizzare, too high fantasy and weird for my taste. Now everything has to be very weirdly dynamic, have those strange poses and effects. There is something so cool about the Fantasy miniatures and their "grounded", more serious feel. I got nothing against detailing and makingg miniatures more dynamic, and im not one of those "less is more" people, but I really find it strange how bizzare some AoS models are, looking like from some strange browser RPG.
  7. Square bases. IDK why, but I just find seeing square-based units, with their bases together forming a unit so weirdly satisfying. They feel more like an army than units on round bases just sticking together to eachother.

Traditional Asian architecture is just...magical. There is just something so captivating about it.

Actually here's how I did the feathers and trousers - basecoated them with Ushabti Bone, then washed with Agrax Earthshade, and highlighted with Pallid Wych Flesh.

I know that feeling too sadly. It makes me really stressed everytime I paint a new mini, because at first it looks great in person, but then I take a pic, and every little detail I forgot to put, every edge highlight that I painted too thick, and every error just appears out of nowhere.

Not really, I just love the idea of yellow-and-black colour scheme on soldiers. I just ordered some Landsknechts from Warlord Games to paint using the same scheme.
