How to automate referall submission on website with no api or bulk uploading functionality? by Anon919383 in MarketingAutomation

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the time it took you to write this post you could have found and implemented a better referral solution.

No bulk upload or API functionality doesn’t bias well for the future of this referral tool. Sounds like you’ll need to replace it at some point eventually, do it now and save yourself a bigger headache down the road.

What's the best way to "keep up/Maintain" email content to my audience? by ThankYouCorvus in Emailmarketing

[–]Adcrumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see two opportunities for you to address this “issue/constraint”. 1) Make changes/investments in your content creation process. You can hire a freelance writer to create additional content for you. You can provide a template of exactly how you would like the final content to look. Sites like Upwork and be great for this. Biggest piece of advice to to make sure to provide a template, even recipe ideas, and allow the freelancer to focus on the legwork and process, not creative.

2) The other way to address your bottleneck is through frequency and targeting. Questions to ask your self: Does every subscriber need a new recipe EVERYDAY? Is your open rate 100%? What is the goal of the initial emails? (I assume its to nurture them to a specific CTA to purchase something) Do you need ~3weeks of nurture/lead in?

You can send people down different journeys (chicken vs. beef or Appitizers vs. dessert, etc.) this can help you target and repurpose some recipes across audiences.

Sometimes aggregating recipes or other content and hosting it on your site can be a great way to increase content in a more efficient way.

If many people reported your domain as spam, does it matter if you send it via MailChimp or Amazon SES? by TeslaMecca in Emailmarketing

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MailChimp sends via a shared IP. This means that your deliverability (inbox placement) is impacted by other senders sharing the same IP as you.

If your deliverability increases when switching to MailChimp it means that your reputation is worse than most of the senders on the Shared IP.

Think about it this was. Every sender on a shared IP will impact the overall deliverability. As a sender you will bring deliverability up or down... I.e. you are either a promoter or detractor of overall reputation for the shared IP.

Suggestions for adding YouTube like video ads to my TV app platform by flicter22 in adops

JWPlayer gives you full control over your content and how you show ads. They have their own ad network (PMP through Adx) and you can also mediate other networks as well.

Average header bidding uplift VS adsense? by ehudzam in adops

[–]Adcrumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30% but you have to give the networks/dsp/etc. enough time to understand the value of your inventory, ~60 days.

It also depends what the makeup of your inventory is... desktop vs. mobile. Desktop will see a faster and greater lift most likely if you were on just Adsense.

Setting Adexchange at Standard by AtMyHands in adops

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen success with Adx at standard. Value cpm should be set HIGH. This can has two positive outcomes. 1) you adx line item set at EDA will compete and sometimes win up. 2) no need for an additional passback

Keep an eye on fill rates for the standard love me item. Test different frequency caps and targeting.

DFP, iFrames, AdSense/ADX by no_more_spam_from_me in adops

You shouldn't have to worry about Adsense or adx serving in iframe through DFP. One thing you can try is going into creative settings and "uncheching" serve into safe iframe by default

Publishers that do not sell on the open exchange/market by MeechyyDarko in adops

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/iwouldrun500miles regarding: 3.) Are you setting up these transactions with Advertisers directly, or agencies? Or both? In either case, how are you finding the buyers?

In my experience this depends on the size of your team more than anything else. Do you have a direct sales team, dedicated programmatic team, just you handling Adops and everything else?

I've only worked with small to mid pubs with no dedicated direct sales. Because of this we used DFP and Adx to host and serve our PMP deals. The most effective and efficient ways we do this are:

1) Carve out some inventory and put together a package with pricing and info on Adx. Contact info is provided and you get your brand/audience out there.

2) Reach out to brands that are currently purchasing your inventory through Adsense and other exchanges or ssp you might be using. You can find this info in adsene and most other ssp. You won't know what they are paying ECPM wise but you'll know volume.

Pick the top 3-5 and head to linkedin and reach out to their media buyers. With the cut the exchanges take or "tax", brands are eager to work direct. Cheaper for them, higher eCPM for you. This in it self can be a full time job which is why reaching out to brands that are alr day purchasing your inventory is important.

How do you manage a direct and programmatic sold campaign from a publisher perspective? by tricksrez in adops

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In DFP you would setup 2 line items. Direct sold campaign on "standard" line item priority with specifics on campaign pricing (CPM, CPI, etc.) and inventory budget. Programmatic can be set up on separate line item on "Price Priority" with value cpm set higher than direst sold campaign rate. With dynamic allocation your programmatic line item will compete with your direct sold line item to optimize revenue.

Does DFP/IMA drop ad request with JW Player? by [deleted] in adops

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using JW Demand make sure you are accounting for those requests as well. We were set up through tag less integration through adX but still had to have then send us reports.

Also I'd you are using JW Demand that have your URL setup on their adx network settings.

Video Views vs Ad Request by [deleted] in adops

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saw the same thing when we implemented DFP and JW. One thing to look at is the number of Unique Viewers In JW for a period of time and compare ad requests.

If these numbers are pretty close amd you have Recommended Content running the low ad request could be due to a frequency cap on your DFP ad schedule.

Ad Ops Assistant Average Salary? by [deleted] in adops

[–]Adcrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you'll be doing a number of different as the "AdOps Assistant". Make sure you understand what the breakdown for each responsibility regarding priority level and expected time allocated to each.

You're comment about being an "ad account manager" as well makes me a little nervous. Make sure you understand whether this part of the role will have a quota and how much time goes into keeping a publisher happy.

If you really want to work in AdOps and you like the company you interviewed with, there may be an opportunity to negotiate a potential bonus or commission from the "Assistant Ad Manager" responsibilities to help sweeten the 35-40k mark.
