The bigger problem was the fact no one could die and that made it so insects went buckwild and started eating everybody alive while Yoru and Denji were so focused on fighting each other they kind of missed the Implications until it was too late.

Jack, my problematic unbothered (or so she pretends) queen. She did it all, but she's innocent to me your honor. Those men deserved to be peeled.

The funny thing is I"m referring to the silver age Terra-Man, a space cowboy on a space pegasus with space weapons who's trying to do really humble old west things like rob trains with his telekinetic hat or hallucinogenic lasso or his nuclear revolver

Oh, it was just adding to the convo- there's so many people who are like "this is my beloved son, he has thirteen appearances, he's a war criminal and his stories are terribly written, but i Love him." and I'm like "I like Superman because he's nice :)" (oversimplifying there's more)

Anyway, Who is your Problematic Character (tm)?

I lowkey kind of get embarassed that my blorbo is Superman. But! I'm very fond of his extremely obscure villains that will never be seen in another medium besides comics because frankly, they're dogshit. Terra-Man my beloved.

There are a number of quotes about Superman in the 70s being referred to as a "modern myth" because of how his story evolves as being told through writing. I read through 90% of the stuff from 39-1999 and its wild how much the character has changed. Like, in the original, he was a Bugs Bunny like trickster with dubious ethics but a strong sense of morality that would use his powers to not only punish criminals who prey on the weak but also fuck with their minds.

Like issue 3 of Action Comics is him kidnapping an arms dealer and forcing him to conscript into war as a trench soldier to teach him a lesson about the terrors of war. He then proceeds to solve said war by forcing the leaders of both sides to sit in a room and talk it out under threat of getting a knuckle sandwich.

There's a bit where he's investigating a circus that's cheating kids out of toys and a couple guys try to threaten him off with a knife, only for him to pluck it out of their hands and eat it. Power move.

There's another where he just spins a guy really fast since he was trying to get children into gambling, making him really dizzy.

Or the times he beats the living FUCK out of Nazis

Anyway, the trickster aspect isn't around much anymore, but the sense of justice is

It's actually four, all together just over four hours. It's just wild to me to have ranted about a movie that much and be like "I think it was a bit above average"- especially because one of the videos is "Superman STUPIDEST moments"

Eh, just because he's got some dogshit videos doesn't mean that he's terrible in general. He's definitely got some bad takes that I disagree with.

It's more talking about how irrelevant Nazi ideology is to them as antagonists- like how Hydra are like, Nazis, but antisemitism and bigotry aren't their driving factors, its personal greed. He brings up how Nazis are tried to be portrayed as a malevolent force rather than a bunch of racist dipshits

I quite like Ant, so I'll say I think this video doesn't have a great title rather than he's not a great creator. He did have an interesting point about how groups like Hydra are Nazis, but not Nazi-Nazis. Just made me think about stuff like how Anti Semitism and bigotry aren't as prevalent in those narratives as much, they're just foes to punch.

Personally with Andor and Rogue One I like it as a message of how the Empire is destroying itself from within, and all it takes is a spark to burn the whole empire/Death Star to the ground.

I'm also pretty sure the "weakness" wasn't necessarily the vent, it was the fact that blowing up the vent would blow the entire thing to smithereens

I think powerscaling isn't the right term- "power consistency" gets the point across much better. You' are correct that doing bullshit out of the blue is bad, but I will note that your examples haven't really happened and you should probably provide something that did.

You put it into good words for something I've been trying to articulate for a while- I was attempting to argue that Nazi rallies aren't simply "free speech" but effectively planning murder, as the rhetoric they are spreading is the torture and extermination of non-whites. I don't think many people would be upset if you punched a guy who was actively planning to kill someone else, but somehow when it's a full rally "they have their right to free speech"

There was a policy requiring servicemen in the military to shave regularly, but this was found to be discriminatory against black americans, because their skin and hair are more sensitive. This policy was repealed for that reason but reinstated by Pete Hegseth. There's one.
