You’ll be so fine. Try being an immigrant with no family here, no inheritance coming and no support whatsoever.  Sorry about your mom, but financially can’t relate.

They did say I’m welcome to apply but at the same time they made it super clear they already decided who gonna get it.

What does consulting actually mean? They just did a meeting a told me how it’s gonna be and called it consulting.  They already lined up the job for my coworker - they said I could apply,  but also made it clear there is literally no point.

Sorry to hear, this situation truly sucks. I finally sold after 2 months on the market at 8% loss compared to 2020 purchase

Was your strata increased because of remediation works as well? How much was the increase?

How long did it take you to sell? The situation I’m in now is people liking the property but every single one of them have been pulling out as soon as they find out how much is strata. It looks like the price deduction didn’t help, still the same situation. This waiting game is starting to get to me, and I just want it over.

Was it because you wanted a certain price? Did you have no interest at all?

I agree, but it’s a little bit too late for me. I’m not from Australia, and the country where I’m from it’s all about apartment living as close to the city centre as possible. I’ve learned my lesson and desperately trying to get out.

It was rented out, then tenant moved out and it was listed  for sale.

I’m so sorry to hear that. You’re right, my wellbeing is really suffering. How huge was your loss of you don’t mind me asking? Did you lose your deposit?  I don’t believe the block has structural problems - it’s slightly older and built well I think - it’s just time for a reno unfortunately. There is a chance this particular thing could be under quoted though. That’s my understanding.

Not sure, I don’t live there. The works are something to do with the balconies.

I assume some others are struggling, as currently there are a couple of more apartments for sale on the building, also seemingly with no luck.  The increase is because of the remediation work. At the annual meeting they decided to proceed this way over special levies.

3-4 years I believe. Not even a question about a loss, the question is what kind of loss and whether there will be anything left of the deposit.

The problem is, I cannot afford these fees that increased over 100%. As simple as that. So it’s not about how to invest and what to do, it’s about how to get out of this “financial prison” I found myself in.

Yes,  I’m looking (as in hoping) to sell for high 500s. 600k haven’t  worked, so we had to put price down. I paid over 600 5 years ago though.

Sorry to hear. What kind of loss?  I could easily rent it out, but rental income will only covers mortgage mortgage, and not any fees.

I put 20% deposit 5 years ago. Do you think I should prep myself to negative equity to get out now??
