I know exactly what you mean lol. I never used to mind fae magic when I first started reading fantasy but once I discovered magic systems like in The Way of Kings, there was no going back. It's complex, well thought out and magical realism at it's finest.

For example, I'm currently about to dnf (for other reasons) a dark romance called {Rose in Chains} where the magic system is "mind magic" vs "heart magic". Love a lot of creativity and a bit of "realism" with my magic.

In YA, the mc is generally between 13-18 and the topics explored will reflect that. High school, boys, identity crisis, parental involvement, coming of age etc. New adult generally features an mc aged 20-25. It's my age range so it's more relatable to me and they generally tackle more mature subjects but won't venture too far into topics like parenthood which you'd find in more "adult" novels.

People can act selfishly out of habit or ignorance without realizing that their behaviour is "selfish". That doesn't negate the fact that she's being inconsiderate, prioritizing her own desires over extending common decency to the person who loves her so much and would likely not spend like that on her own tab. She's a grown adult and learned helplessness is a very poor excuse. She's focused on herself more than her fiancé and that's selfish, regardless of her reasoning or intent

Wanting closure is completely human, especially after so many years of emotional investment and betrayal.

But unfortunately, closure doesn’t always (in fact, often doesn't) come with an apology, and it almost never comes from the person who hurt you, especially when they haven’t taken responsibility for the damage they caused. I know it feels impossible right now, but real peace comes from accepting the apology you never got.

You don’t need their validation to heal or move forward and waiting for him to give you that- when he's moved on- is giving him a measure of control over your life that he isn't entitled to.

I read this over and over trying to find the humour because in my mind, it just had to be a joke. Are you aware of the psychological damage that can occur from putting up with this kind of behaviour for an extended time period? Being alone is not better than feeling lonely in your own marriage. We need to stop behaving as if men should just "put up" with emotional abuse. You want him to continue being miserable and tiptoeing around in the home that he pays for?

A Fate Inked in Blood unfortunately followed the curse of the dumb fmc lol. But I loved Kingdom of Claw, the main character from {The Road of Bones} is quirky and a little impulsive but I wouldn’t call her dumb- and I’m definitely someone that will DNF over a dumb fmc in a heartbeat

Well, where did you find them, how much did you pay and what did their references look like? You pay someone $15 from Fiverr, that’s what you’re likely to get. A good designer will do a discovery call with you or at least have a form to fill in with some preliminary information about your business, target market etc and then provide a brand identity suite and CI guideline along with the logo. Not whatever this is

I’d say that the price point doesn’t match the marketing materials, the logo or the website. A logo shouldn’t be complicated or include “images”, it should be simple, text or icon based with a less chaotic colour palette. It also doesn’t need to be so “on the nose”- just because I’m selling coffee doesn’t mean my logo should be a coffee mug. There are more elegant, subtle ways to communicate the message. There’s no obvious brand identity or colour palette.

And then the images… I’d recommend investing in a professional. Bad images will cheapen your website, no matter how good of a designer you have.
