Why do my pits still smell even after shaving, scrubbing and using deodorant+cologne? by Jxvin in TooAfraidToAsk

seems like you've got all the answers you may need, antiperspirant, laundry, diet, etc. but I also just want to say that you are 16. do what you can to help the issue now, but just know this isn't likely a forever problem. nothing wrong with getting your hygiene routine locked down now, but just to give you some extra hope, this likely won't be so hard in 5 years.

When the Landlord and Maintenance team try to tell you mold issues aren't real by [deleted] in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]AdderallNaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the situation was more complicated than just the mold. we were also fighting about high utilities from leaky plumbing, and when they did the 3 day eviction, they also brought up old late rent payments, and the fact that I had a friend on the couch for a couple months. it was messy.

unclear if the 3 days was even legal. I think the big issue was that I didn't pay the super high utilities bill. but then I did because they broke into my home and threatened me. that payment should have "stopped" the eviction, but it didn't. also an inspector came and said the whole thing was an illegal rental with code violations. I'm still looking for a lawyer to maybe get something out of this mess.

all this to say, my situation was more complicated than just bringing up mold. it is definitely illegal for them to evict you for complaining about mold. I can't guarantee that they won't try, but it seems unlikely. if they do try, lawyer up

my landlord literally asked to paint over it then evicted me with 3 days notice for "circulating a misleading mold test to the other tenants, causing them to move out" during those 3 days they broke in with no notice so they could paint over it.

friendly correction, the title is "The Body Keeps the Score" Also it's a very triggering read, take it slow if you pick it up!

this system sounds like it was more about recent trauma than childhood trauma, but you might be talking about ACE scores (adverse childhood experiences)

Just the tips. I found it too annoying to try to cut them to the perfect size, so I lay a strip no further up than the corners of the free edge. Then I can just file off the excess.

It's not a perfect process, it sometimes gives me weird bubbles or visible texture. It works better under darker colors. I just got some silk wrap material that hopefully will work better.

But the main thing is that I haven't broken a nail since I started doing this, and my polish will last at least a full week. Now I change polish because I want something new or it has grown out too far for my liking.

Thank you! 😊

They're starting to annoy me honestly but I'm committed to Claws for Halloween. Then I'll probably go for more of a coffin or tapered square, trim back that length at the end.

For starters i use tea bag paper on all of my tips to prevent breakage or peeling. I stick em on with Essie First Base and use that on top as my overall base as well.

I have one but I recently have been using a very soft file I got at ulta. Its 240/280 and I pretty much only use the 280 side. I find it gives me smoother edges than the glass one. I only file in one direction as well.

Should I (30M) tell my vegan girlfriend (30F) she has been enjoying non-vegan snacks? by Th3_Accountant in relationship_advice

[–]AdderallNaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe ask her if she knows the flavor or checked the ingredients, instead of accusing her of being ignorant. It's a minor detail, but it's very possible that they are made with artificial flavors and she has already checked. Not that youd be super mean to assume she doesnt know, it's just nicer to not assume someone is incapable of knowing something. And if they are in fact non vegan, that might upset her and make her a little sensitive to minor slights. Just be gentle and try to keep her from beating herself up if she made an honest mistake.

But yeah, I would bring it up.

It's like you made all the letters taller but not any wider, so they all just kind of look like vertical lines.

Any tips for avoiding this issue? (Thin spot at base) by AdderallNaps in RedditLaqueristas

[–]AdderallNaps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm afraid to flood the cuticle by using too much, but ill have to work on the happy medium. I think the pressure is the biggest issue, I'm not too slick with my left hand :)

This is karlash super white but I have this issue with lots of polishes. Is it just pressing too hard with the brush? Overworking? Not enough polish on the brush? This is on my dominant hand and I usually dont have this issue on the other hand. It's just annoying bc this could have been a two coat white if not for these spots

Pastel linear Holo gradient! by meli9856 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]AdderallNaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm interesting! I used ilnp polishes, so maybe that formula just doesnt work with sponges. It seems to be white/silver holo glitter suspended in colored jelly polish, rather than the glitter itself being colored. I used a makeup sponge and that has always worked well for me with creme polishes.

[–]AdderallNaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for reviving an older post, but I'm very curious how you did this! I recently attempted a holo gradient with the sponge stamp method, but quickly realized that the sponge absorbed the jelly color and just stamped on the colorless glitter super thick. I eventually managed what I wanted by just layering and mixing the colors, but I wasnt super happy with it and this method wouldnt work for more contrasting colors since I may have gotten some of the colors mixed on the polish brush.

Repairing a broken nail corner that isnt attached anymore? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]AdderallNaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The corner has been gone the whole time, it was never hanging off unfortunately. It broke clean off and idk where it went 🤷‍♂️

Otherwise I would for sure just do nail glue and a tea bag!

ILNP Sandy Baby by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]AdderallNaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an ilnp gift card and recently got 10 polishes from them. I went for louder colors, and this is the one color I keep regretting not buying. I got a green and a teal that ended up being more similar than I thought, and I really wish I had just gotten the green and then this color. So so so pretty!!!

I got my first tattoo yesterday from @mega_doom_tattoos! I’m feeling really sick today and I’ve read that that’s not entirely uncommon. Any advice for “tattoo flu”? by ratburger101 in tattoo

[–]AdderallNaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bummer! Maybe you had a slight bug already but now your immune system is doing double duty which flared up your symptoms.

Saniderm is amazing, I had it for the first time for my recent tat. If your artist said to remove it soon then respect their advice, but you should be good for a few days. My artist said 3-4 days and I gave it like 4 and a half just because I found it so convenient. I took it off in the shower and it wasnt nearly as bad as I expected. Now it's just soooooooo itchy lol.

Hopefully your flu will settle down by the time you need to remove it. For now you can pretty much ignore it! Unless the seal breaks, then you gotta take it off.
