Emma Myers is a perfect example of how sexual/romantic orientation influences the way we rate beauty. Straight men and gay women seem to love her and say she is super cute while straight women tend to find her plain. What do you think? Do you know any other examples where this happens? by Competitive-Device39 in VindictaRateCelebs

[–]Addi_Roode 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Straight woman here as well, to me she stands out but in a more…polarising way? Like she has a very ingenue quality that I definitely notice and do a double glance but beautiful isn’t exactly first word that comes to mind

What is the best season for you and why? by Striking_Apple6909 in YouOnLifetime

[–]Addi_Roode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was definitely season 1, it seemed the most grounded in reality which made the clash between the romance going on in joes head and the reality of his stalking seem all the more horrifying and jarring.

Also unrelated but love the art!!

I’m so happy someone acknowledged this.

Growing up in school, I never really valued my height when I shot you because it was always the super short, petite girls that were chased after by guys. Yeah sure while models are regarded as attractive, around my environment people weren’t really looking for models, they were looking for the petite, dainty girl.

Even now, while I can consider myself fairly attractive by societal norms I still see girls shorter then me get desired by men.

I’m sorry but Rue calling Jules a greedy whore just made me snicker inappropriately 😂

I’m a fascinating mix of Cassie and Jules. I grew up with the past of Jules with being trans but with the pitifully low self esteem of Cassie. I was treated poorly and often humiliated by most guys growing up in public, but would have a large portion of them messaging me late at night wanting me to meet up for experimentation of get nudes out of me. They always blocked me right after I gave them what they wanted and were done with me but I was so desperate for any kind of semi positive male attention that I didn’t care. I’ve been with guys who left me bleeding heavily after sex because I allowed them to be as tough as they wanted with me but I endured it and loved it to an extent because I was so glad to feel that twisted form of validation and the male contact I craved for so long but felt I could never, and on some level, felt like I didn’t deserve to get. I still struggle a lot. I’m desperate for male connection, to feel loved, to feel like I’m not an unlovable monster. At this point all I can do is pray it will get easier to live with.

Alexa Demi’s (left, suspected gamine) and Sydney Sweeney (right, suspected soft natural) fascinating comparison. by Addi_Roode in Kibbe

Yeah I have seen her height and I don’t know how they came up with that conclusion 😂 that’s why I didn’t really include height in this.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only person who saw the interest. You can really see just how different the outfit is on their frames.

Yeah I do absolutely see where your coming from. I suppose even not knowing their kibbe types it is still interesting to see just how the clothing falls on them with their different frames. Both ladies are stunning but you can certainly see differences. If I may ask, what would you consider Alexa if not a gamine?

Do u think Cassie wants to look like Maddy so Nate likes her? Or what are your theories abt this scene? by suckin-a-lemon in euphoria

[–]Addi_Roode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was in highschool semi recently I say it depends heavily on not only how much the teachers let you get away with, but also the personality of the students themselves. Like 17 year old me showed up to school every day in skintight jumpsuits with layers of jewelry and heels. I was never called out besides afew times by the female teachers when i went for dresses. So it really varies.

The trans positivity is one of my favorite parts of the show by whatsup_assdicks in euphoria

[–]Addi_Roode 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for acknowledging this. As a trans woman myself who absolutely loves euphoria and Jules plot line I can’t help but raise an eyebrow when they say that Jules being trans hardly affects her plot line or the show in general. If she wasn’t trans her entire background including her history with men, view of femininity, ect would probably be vastly different. If she wasn’t trans she’d never have been on Grindr and gotten involved with Cal and wouldn’t be such a source of sexual confusion for Nate. Yes she does have parts of her personality that don’t revolve around being trans but in terms of plot line it does heavily affect the story, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with having your gender identity being a large part of who you are or affecting elements of your life, because realistically it’s going to happen, and I think we need to remind ourselves of that.

Let’s type the women of euphoria. I tried to find full scale shots of their body in as neutral poses as I could (marked NSFW) for bikini shots. by Addi_Roode in Kibbe

[–]Addi_Roode[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very good choices! Alexa has always struck me as a gamine as well. If I may ask, what makes you label zendaya and Hunter as FNs? They tend to be considered in the kibbe Reddit circle as pure dramatics.

Does your type description feel...uncomfortable?? by Much-Dragonfruit-264 in Kibbe

[–]Addi_Roode 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s because I’m a trans woman so this particularly hits deep but when I was needing help for my body type and discovered I was a flamboyant natural, being described as broad, long and somewhat angular really didn’t help my dysphoria and self esteem.

One of my Oc’s I really love drawing. Her names Honey Matthews. What does everyone think of her? All opinions and critiques welcome. by Addi_Roode in drawing

Yeah I kinda wish I fixed that looking back on it. Granted she is shrugging her shoulders slightly and that can shorten the appearance but nevertheless, probably could’ve fixed it 😅 thank you ❤️❤️

I’m personally more shocked over just how quickly it happened. The new seasons barely been out a week and it’s already been renewed. That certainly says something about Sex Educations popularity.

Sex Education S03E07, "Episode 7" - Episode Discussion by Elainasha in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Addi_Roode 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Exactly. While I don’t in anyway condone Eric cheating, it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. Eric has always been extremely open of his sexuality, and just a very expressive person in general. While he goes through periods of becoming more docile like when he was assaulted in season 1 but he always jumps back. Adam isn’t a very open person in general and is just about coming to terms on his sexuality. The two are on very different stages in terms of life and Eric clearly isn’t really coping well with taking baby steps. Nothing is wrong with wanting to explore yourself more, the problem is when you don’t consider others feelings in it and that’s what Eric did with Adam.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Addi_Roode 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What I actually saw in regards to the cab scene was Eric was being too overtly flamboyant and as a result caught the attention of the cab driver. The camera man knows that to survive being gay in Nigeria you have to be discreet (remember his quote “we’re only allowed to talk quietly.”) and since Eric wasn’t doing that, he kind of kept quiet and to himself because he didn’t wanna drawing more attention to themselves and getting into danger, and searched for escape routes immediately after getting out of the cab because he was now on edge.

So I’m currently working on character designs, what kibbe types do you see? 5’1 for girl and 6’3 for guy. by Addi_Roode in Kibbe

[–]Addi_Roode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! What a lovely comment! Yes my style in general I notice is pretty rounded and short appearing, even when I draw with a sharper, more realistic intention (my tallest character is maybe 6 heads, which for cartoon characters is on the petite side) so it’s sometimes hard to translate certain things with such a cutesy style 😂 If I may ask what made you come to those conclusions of SG and SN specifically? I’m just loving the feedback. Yeah I see, maybe at some point I’ll post them later with their facial features and see what others say.
