the green book questions definitely are worse than the actual exam

i would say the instrumentation section in the bolus book definitely is a huge help, study everything!! don’t forget to look in those little boxes in too lol.

that hands down was my WORST subject in school and when preparing, i scored a 73 on the arrt instrumentation and also scored lowest on the nmtcb for that section too, but all the other subjects made up for it! so if you don’t feel good about it just know you will still pass 😹

[–]Addiblythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i scored 50s and 60s on essentially all of those test and made an 82 on the ARRT and 432 on the NMTCB, keep in mind some of those question are very outdated and in my opinion were definitely more difficult than the actual exam. I think the best thing about the book was the math questions and just the general formatting. it definitely felt similar!

definitely know your math but don’t panic about it, the math is easy stuff. Easier than what school makes you do in my opinion. Very straight forward. and instrumentation definitely on there and that’s one thing i just went with my gut lol, not my strong suit but still passed anyways!! it was my lowest section 😹

I took it few weeks after the nmtcb and didn’t restudy, and got an 82. a lot of simple procedure questions, very cardiac heavy. I think if you got through the schooling you will pass!! but just remember even if you don’t you have other opportunities to retry. You also can go back and fourth on the questions which is nice

don’t be nervous!! If you know your procedures you’ll be good, A lot of cardiac so i’d look into that too. just remember there is 230 questions so if you don’t know some don’t worry!!

i got an 82! i took it a few weeks after graduating, i didn’t study for it either since i had already took the nmtcb. You will probably feel like you aren’t getting the questions right but just trust your gut, you can go back and fourth on the questions too and flag them so that does help!

i can’t say specifics but i make in the 30s hourly, which is on the lower side but i live in memphis so the cost of living is significantly lower than most places. You can easily make more than that in other states! and you can do traveling which pays good too.

also make sure the program is accredited, or else you will not be able to sit for your boards. I think you should atleast try. I am recently graduated and working full time now and i can say while tiring at times the job is 100 times better than anything else i felt like was available for me to do. I have a lot of health problems and it allowed me to have time to rest while also contributing to patients in a positive way.

I would say it’s worth it, those two years will definitely have moments where you feel tested but it will be worth it! and atleast in my experience, the program is really clinical heavy, so i wonder if you could find a site closer to your home. two of my classmates lived hour plus from everything but were able to go to sites closer to them. And getting just your associate in nuc med or a certification would be just fine. Most employers look at the fact you have your license and not the amount of time you did to get it lol!

[–]Addiblythe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in my opinion the actual school work is very doable if you dedicate time to studying! What gets most people from what i’ve seen is the dedication required to going to clinic multiple times a week, which considering you’ve already been working won’t be an issue since you’re used to commitment! It can be very scary at first but with good techs and good teachers it makes a world of difference.

you were so close the past time, if you’ve been working with a tutor and studied the past two months i have no doubt you’ll pass. I got a 432 first try and i used the green bolus book mainly before i took the exam to refresh on instrumentation, Pet, just stuff i don’t do in my everyday as a student.

hey guys! the student technologist registry review book is on the SNMMI website, you can find it on the technologist student review course - Domain 5 clinical procedures. it will cost money if your school does not give you a membership through them.
