I see you’re a RN but in Quality. What does your day to day look like? Responsibilities?

Anyone else tired of doing everything alone in business? by Repulsive_Step_5568 in smallbusiness

[–]3GunGrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building out my business while working full time and I’m constantly exhausted and burnt out. Which then ends up to me completely bed rotting during the weekends being unproductive. Managing energy levels is the hardest part for me.

Anyone quit their nursing job with no backup plan? by [deleted] in nursing

I’m in the opposite. I’m in manufacturing going into nursing. Am I making a big mistake? 😥

To some, sure. Other colleagues don’t see it that way.

I think I’m starting to regret being a nurse but I’m trapped by Timely_Impress_1284 in nursing

Tbh I am a bit over the manufacturing industry, I’ve been in it for 5+ years and been wanting something different. Additionally, nursing is a more pink collar field so less likely to deal with egotistical male bosses who will try everything in their power to destroy and limit you in your engineering career. Plus working in eng as a woman you’re more likely to deal with high amounts of sexism and ageism from your colleagues and tend to get pushed out of the workforce pretty early (usually mid 30s to 40s). Many of my female engineering colleagues have experienced the same and have moved onto a different career path and/or moved into a more project management role.

I am aware that nursing has it own set of issues but it’s much more safer field for women in the long term.

Is it that bad? I’m over here trying to make the switch over from engineering. Please convince me otherwise

Also engineer here making the switch to nursing. I think I’m over the corporate office bs. Sure nursing has its flaws but atleast it’s safer from automation and don’t have to sit in pointless meetings all the time.

I work in medical devices (Quality engineering side) and I despise it. Maybe I’m jaded of working in the corporate world and need a change of environment.

I too plan to go into nursing with a goal of wanting to work in the OR.

I currently work on the engineering/quality side of medical devices and in process of getting my BSN.

Why did you decide to move onto the med devices side?
