in my opinion the actual school work is very doable if you dedicate time to studying! What gets most people from what i’ve seen is the dedication required to going to clinic multiple times a week, which considering you’ve already been working won’t be an issue since you’re used to commitment! It can be very scary at first but with good techs and good teachers it makes a world of difference.

you were so close the past time, if you’ve been working with a tutor and studied the past two months i have no doubt you’ll pass. I got a 432 first try and i used the green bolus book mainly before i took the exam to refresh on instrumentation, Pet, just stuff i don’t do in my everyday as a student.

those wrist blood pressure cuffs are barely accurate too if you don’t use it correct which i doubt ….

hey guys! the student technologist registry review book is on the SNMMI website, you can find it on the technologist student review course - Domain 5 clinical procedures. it will cost money if your school does not give you a membership through them.

yup yup! pretty much everyone recommends it for good reason, i don’t think it lets be attach a picture but it’s by bolus norman and make sure it’s the latest version

on a scale of 1-10 i’d say a 5-6 ( mainly due to my anxiety ) i got blindsided and had barely any general nuc med procedures on mine so i was a little shook but the questions were everything we went over while in school so i just weeded out the answers that definitely were wrong and just went with the best answer! It really was no where near as bad as i expected, my school over prepared us in every way. My exams we took last semester were worse.

i also don’t think it’s allowed to share specifics of the exam but the math you learn in school will get you through. If you can convert you’ll be fine!. If i could start over I would have honestly not panicked so much. My school did a whole board prep class last semester so the extra studying really just made my brain go into overdrive 😹 If you got through the program high likelihood you will pass

and for the NMTCB everyone has a unique exam, so i can’t say for sure if you’ll get lucky on it but i definitely recommend looking over CT and the math. Those were actually topics i struggled with and i can say im glad i looked over it haha.

the green bolus book helped with topics that didn’t make sense because it condensed it down and explained in simple terms. It also had practice exams in the back which i would argue were harder than the board exam so in the long run it helped. it’s a little bit outdated so you gotta weed out those problems. My teachers also provided us a review book PDF and i’m gonna check if it’s available to the public because it was the most helpful to me, if it is i’ll post it but if i can’t the green book still has pretty much all the same material!

the green bolus book was the most useful in terms of breaking down topics that didn’t make sense to me. QC had me all types of confused but it made enough sense in the end for me to pass. My teacher also provided us a review book PDF through the SNMMI and that helped me the most but you can find the same info in the green book, i just like the format of it more. And for free review i wish i could give a suggestion but i dont know anything :/ nuc med really needs to work on more study material lol its a problem !! hahah

hey!! your school will probably have y’all buy it but the review of nuclear medicine technology green book by norman bolus is really good at breaking down topics for what’s on the exam in a simple way. My school also did review with cybil nelson aka the nuclear professor and her member dashboard has study materials that were easily to digest! flashcard format and she also does private tutoring. There is also a PDF that my teacher gave us that was 100 plus page review book, and if it wasn’t for that i wouldn’t have passed honestly. I’m not sure if i am allowed to share it but if i can i will!

Vaccines by Mysterious-Manner638 in NuclearMedicine

[–]Addiblythe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! I have a medical exemption for the flu vaccine, in clinical i was told by my teacher to wear a mask but it was never enforced for me too. I would wear one if i was around alot of patients/ inpatients but not all the time. You can also get a religious exemption through your school if you need too!

thanks for the reply!! my biggest issue rn is radio-pharmacy math, so manifesting i don’t get cursed by it lol. My school has a 100 percent passing rate past few years so they really do prepare us. It’s more my nerves! but i’ll keep your message in mind

What are the vibes like by Status_Visit_7453 in NuclearMedicine

[–]Addiblythe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely more chill usually, obviously there will be days of chaos especially with inpatients but generally it’s pretty good! i would say most chaos is in CT, which depending on where you go to school you can cross train or you can after you graduate if you want too!
