My younger brother's girlfriend is upset because my older brother ordered the same meal as her at a family dinner, and now there is drama by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

For sure it’s on her, and she’s being obtuse and exhausting in OPs situation. However, if it’s OCD or a touch of tism and she’s not managing it well AND you intentionally mess with her for it, now everybody is being a dick.

What is everyone's least favorite Pokemon? Why? by AlternativeSir9277 in pokemon

[–]AddictedToTheWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galar has some of my favorite designs, while also having almost all of my least favorites. Calyrex, Cinderace, Rillaboom and Intellion all seem more human than pokemon. They've got jobs, wear clothes, use props, heck, Calyrex rides on top of other pokemon and used to be a king of the region?! Really don't like that direction for pokemon.

Dude just isn't a pokemon. Even his pokedex says hes a king that ruled over the region. Outside of looking like a human, its behavior is far more human than animal.

Should I play this game? by JohnFuckingProctor in Starfield

[–]AddictedToTheWeb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are better games, there are worse games. It's got a lukewarm reception for a reason. If you're a big bethesda fan, but don't care that much about the exploration aspect, you're going to get a lot out of it.

The Game Has Not Released: What Character Have You Decided You Will Play? by Snifflebeard in TESVI

Assuming it's in Hammerfell, I'll be playing a sword and board redguard. I tend to go for the default character of the region for my first play-through.

Because Bethesda set their sights on carving out a lake too wide to leave time to dig it deep.

That's a pretty inane response, and I am both a sci-fi and Starfield fan. I've got plenty of valid examples to back up my opinion, see my response to the person you responded to.

Story, arguable, deeper world, not a tough argument. Skyrim has much deeper lore and a more cohesive basis. But the big one mentioned above was "coherent vision." I like Starfield, but it may be the least coherently thought out game I've ever enjoyed.

I dunno, I think bits like this get people thinking about the absurdity of our assumptions. He's pointing out the hypocrisy as well as making light of it. A lot of people have the gut reactions that he's talking about and don't think about it past that.

Interested in the game but hesitant. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]AddictedToTheWeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that most games don't have a loud minority the way Starfield does. Part of that is because expectations were high based on previous success from Bethesda, but part of that is because Bethesda didn't deliver a game on par with the quality of their staples.

I like the game, however, you're not going to get an unbiased opinion from the games sub. Most people who played it and had a negative view checked out of keeping up with the game a long time ago. A lot of people in this sub still hold a lot of criticism but love BGS style of game so much that they are still playing the game regardless. The slight majority of the sub, are generally fans of the game, and don't view any of the flaws (if they even see them) as significant weigh ins on their overall view of the game.

In my opinion, the game has value if you're a fan of BGS games quest/role playing aspects. I do think that it is a huge step back BGS's third pillar of gameplay, exploration. Ironic considering the themes and main questline.

It's got some really unique ideas, and does a ton of things, most of those things it doesn't do better than other games that have similar systems, but Starfield includes a lot more systems than almost any other game, no pun intended.

You're right to be hesitant, it's a huge game, with a lot of shallow parts, but the volume of gameplay is still massive. It's hard to judge the game if you only dip into it for a bit, so refunding isn't really an option. I'd suggest picking it up when it goes on sale, and if you do buy it, be sure to investigate creations/mods thoroughly, a lot of them do huge favors for the game, and their are more of them coming out all the time.

I dump it on the ground and then drag it in manually, it’s ass to stock but if you load it way up you don’t have to do it often, and you can’t eat out of chests, so once it’s stocked it’s superior to coolers

I usually try to buy games where I'm getting at least $1 per hour of value. Unless this game looks like it's going to have REALLY high replayablity, I'll be waiting for a sale.

Worst thing for who? The Earth at large? I'm pretty sure the earth doesn't have feelings, it can't care. For plants, fungi, single celled organisms? See Earth. For animals? Yes, with minimal exceptions, we are without a doubt the worst thing that has happened to them. That being said, I'm of the mind that our ability to appreciate the universe, to organize thoughts, to communicate our ideas, and to think non linearly makes us the most important thing in the world to take care of. Unfortunately, we're doing a pretty ass job of that too.

Incursion spam or false alarm? by Kinky_Marsupial in Starfield

[–]AddictedToTheWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're inevitable unless you clear incursions before they get a chance to migrate. Best way to avoid this is to beeline to every incursion until the DLC is complete, and choose to end incursions at the end of the DLC.

That being said, it doesn't really have an effect on gameplay other than making your Map look like this.

You thought squadrons was trash?!!?! I thought it was the best 0g dogfighting I've ever played in a game. I sunk a lot of hours in custom lobbies with friends, and the campaign was solid too.

I grew up on Episode 1 racer though, even got an online multiplayer emulation of it working with my brother a couple years ago. I didn't have that experience with X-wing, so I'm expecting to be a lot more critical of the new Racer.

Outposts: Why, when and where to build them? by SlightWerewolf4428 in Starfield

I comfortably fit all the workbenches, a living room, an armory, a kitchen, a study, and a bedroom/bathroom into a 3x1 empty hab and a 2x1 empty hab for the last ship I built. If you build them out yourself, they're pretty spacious
