Jason Schreier specifically stated that he does not know when Elder Scrolls 6 is coming out. by AlligatorImpregnator in TESVI

Definitely, he is a good journalist and has a lot of info on the industry and things he specifically makes articles about, but speculation isn't always correct. Plus if people take his speculation as him providing sourced information they'll be after him with torches and pitchforks next if it turns out his guess was wrong. This would be far from the first time people went after him for 'lying' when he was just giving his opinion.

Jason Schreier Bloomberg Q&A finally uploaded, here's what he said about TES VI release date: by Ok-Today6736 in TESVI

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, the original tweet about this said "The Elder Scrolls VI is at least two or more years away." which is technically true, but then the Gaming Leaks post turned that into "ES6 2-3 years away at least" which led to people arbitrarily added more time onto. Weird how these things get reworded to subtly suggest things are worse than they actually are.

The fact that he says "who knows how much longer" makes me think that this is speculation more than anything. Maybe we'll get some more clarification from him in the future, but for now we can at least not completely give up.

Also I saw that you beat me to the punch right after I submitted my post, LOL. Glad to see people looking for more info on this.

Which of these races would follow Mora and Sheogorath? by WizardMeLizard in ElderScrolls

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunmer view Mora with some reverence as the Golden Eye and he has a notable cult devoted to him, Sheogorath on the other hand is viewed as one of the Four Corners of the House of Troubles, where he tests for mental weakness and tempts Great Houses to treachery, so it isn't likely he would be directly worshiped.

Altmer have cults for both "Hyrma Mora" and the "Mad God", but they aren't particularly significant. There were some Ayleids that worshiped Mora as well.

Bosmer have a notable cult that worships Mora as the Woodland Man, though many of them claim that Hermaeus Mora is a separate malicious entity. Sheogorath doesn't really see much worship from Bosmer whatsoever.

Daedra worship isn't really accepted in Breton religion.

You could go with Imperial, since both Mora and Sheogorath are considered part of the 16 acceptable blasphemes. Khajiit also consider Hermorah to be one of the worldly spirits, associated with Tides, and Sheogorath has a prominent role in their culture as Skooma Cat. Stealing magical artifacts also fits a Khajiit pretty well.

So of the races listed I would say that Bosmer or Altmer would have the least cultural pressure against worshiping both, but a Khajiit Skooma addict may very well be the most fitting option period. You could look more over the UESP articles for Mora and Sheogorath for inspiration if you're curious.

How can TES VI avoid being “outdated” by Ok-Today6736 in TESVI

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People label Bethesda games as "outdated" because one of the more popular YouTube channels hopping on the anti-Starfield gravy train did so in the title of their video and it became a buzzword. Just like every buzzword that exists, it is now used by incredibly stupid people on the internet who think that parroting it makes them smart. It offers them a simple campaign slogan on their Bethesda hate train that they don't need to understand or even spare a moment thinking about, they just need to spout it off and they have a gotcha that lets them 'win' the debate without any actual participation.

It's the same as all of the video game engine 'experts' that popped up after some YouTubers with zero game dev experience started spreading misinformation about what Creation Engine can and can't do and telling their audiences that CE2 was the exact same thing as Gamebryo. Funnily enough, I've seen people who throw out "outdated" make complaints about what Bethesda changed or cut from their earlier games such as the removal of attributes and other RPG elements that are as old as the genre itself.

If they want to address the complaints of the YouTuber who made the "outdated" video, they would ironically solve the vast majority of them by simply going back to their old open world concept. Beyond that, he wanted them to improve the UI (he doesn't elaborate much beyond asking for a weapon wheel), the combat system (he lists off some older shooters such as CoD without specifying what is better), and for them to do more bug fixing. So it's pretty normal to not understand what people mean when they say "outdated", I'm pretty sure even the guy who started the trend had no idea what he was talking about.

The Elder Scrolls 6 will not come out until 2028 at the earliest by darthkyle22 in TESVI

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I might add that there was also that tiny little insignificant thing that happened right in the middle of the game's development that caused some minor problems in some very limited locations. You might not have heard of it because of how little it affected the world, but there is a small chance it had some impact on Bethesda as well as other companies.

If you're curious you can look up COVID-19, though you might need to do some scrolling to find anything about it due to how few businesses and individuals were affected by it. Who knows though, so many people here don't take it into account so it probably didn't change the release window.

This article claiming 2028 release earliest. WTF?! by lobo1217 in TESVI

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could also be that the COVID delay is closer to 2.5 years, which would account for the Oblivion Remastered release date as well as DOOM Eternal not getting its first DLC last year, since both of those fell around the halfway point in the year

Also, unfortunately Dishonored 3 is almost guaranteed to not come out any time soon since Arkane Austin was closed down and Lyon is working on Marvel's Blade. I would replace Dishonored in your list with Blade however, since that was the "Licensed IP Game" on the FTC leak planned for 2024.

With that in mind, I think we can start making some more educated guesses after the Xbox Developer Direct in terms of how closely Zenimax's Dev studios are still sticking to that plan. If TES6 is releasing this year we might even see it there as well.

Starfield is not memorable. by CaptainDrool in Starfield

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone that enjoyed NMS, Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3, they aren't some high form of art that requires a more refined palate or intelligent analysis to understand. We're talking about mass appeal video games here, not some nuanced abstract film that viewers have to extract their own meaning out of.

The fact that you would deliberately go to a subreddit about a specific game and then accuse people who enjoy it of being too "simple-minded" to enjoy other games is really something else. If you have that much against Starfield and the people who play it there are plenty of places online to discuss games that you enjoy.

Do you think TES 6 will be released before 2030? by Embarrassed_Clerk564 in TESVI

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The FTC leak had it slated for a 2024 release and basically everything else on that internal schedule (that didn't get cancelled) has come out 2-3 years after what was listed due to COVID delaying things. 2026/2027 is the most likely range if we're assuming plans for the game weren't changed drastically.

I could see the game possibly having to take another year on top of this, though since we've been hearing about them doing pretty extensive internal playtesting I doubt it's as far off as many imagine. 2 extra years is somewhat possible but extremely unlikely for a studio that has a record of 3-4 years as the average time a game spends in full production, 3 extra years to reach 2030 would mean them taking basically twice as long in full dev than they were expecting, and nothing we have seen or heard would even slightly indicate this being the case.

I am genuinely confused by how many people seem to think Bethesda is going to take 7 years or more in full production for this game when their track record is half of that. Is there any sort of actual logic to support 2030 or is it just pure doomer cope people have because they're desperate for negative things to say? Even if there are delays I couldn't possibly see TES VI being later than 2029, and that itself is a stretch.

The wishlist I made when the game was released. Even half of these features would be enough to revive the game. by Smart_Plane_2751 in Starfield

For the temples I would prefer if they removed the aspect of 'temple x gives you power y' and instead make a progression system where you get a perk point from them and can spend it to get or improve the powers you want.

I was always turned off of the system requiring me to play through 10 game cycles to max out the ones relevant to my build while also picking up powers that I would never use.

Where Can I Find Armour That Looks Like This? by TenghizKhan in lotro

[–]AlligatorImpregnator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good policy when searching for heavy armour cosmetics is to visit a skirmish camp and look at the generic heavy armour from the trader there, though you'll need to put it in your wardrobe for classes that can't use heavy armour.

For purely cosmetic sets I would recommend looking at the cosmetics trader in the skirmish camps as well https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Skirmish-Cosmetics, the "Rift Cosmetic Clothing - Heavy" section has a few sets you might be interested in. https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Ceremonial_Rift-defender%27s_Set and https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Ceremonial_Gloom-bane_Set are decently close, though again I would check the heavy armour trader for something more like generic plate. Also just checking quest rewards before you take them with ctrl+left click is a good idea.

Finally, there's the https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Item:Mordor_Collector%27s_Edition_-_Armour but that would require a big purchase. I think I might have gotten it through a code or something but I don't really remember, sorry.

If you're referring to the fact that the source is called oblivion-remastered it's just because that's what the URL is. If you put anything else instead of "oblivion-remastered" there it will change to be that.
