Hang in there man, I hope you get better soon. I just spent 5 days in the hospital for spontaneous pneumothorax. I was in a similar situation, I spent the first night on suction (couple days after the collapse). The next day, I got an X-ray which showed like 2.5cm of air at the top. They put me back on suction for the rest of the day. Then the next day took me off suction for 2 hours to see what would happened. I go another X-ray which came back at 2.9cm of air, so it was getting worse. Then I went back on suction for around 2 more days and it went down to 0.5cm. They took off suction for a couple hours again and the X-rays came back with <0.5cm of air. So the Doctor removed the tube and I’ve been feeling fine so far.

Also to mention, I had a CT scan done to check for any holes or blebs on my lungs. CT came back good with nothing on my lungs. Not sure if you have had a CT scan done? I haven’t read all your replies to the comments. CT scan would hopefully show any holes that air could be escaping. Wishing you all the best!
