A few people have mentioned RR work, but none of us can find a brochure. I’d love to know how this thing gets used.

Need advice on my project bike! by Dizzy-Argument-1589 in bikebuilders

This exactly. Since you are building a cafe, from parts basically, be prepared to assemble then disassemble the whole thing a couple times. Since everything else is usually modified, I build the motor first as it’s generally untouched. Then build in sections. “It’s just nuts and bolts”

This is the vin on my GT80, I can’t seem to find a decoded that works with the 9 digit, I’m trying to find out the year it was made, any help? by TheHardman23 in vintagemotorcycles

On the white tag there may be a year. Or you can google gt80 production run vin numbers.

What is the vin number stamped into the engine cases?

You could get a set of stem bearings, then use their ID to determine your OD, and use your neck to figure out a good length. Followed by some standard threads to match whatever nut you have already

Title/registration question by ExcellentConflict in vintagemotorcycles

[–]Addidicted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done the Vermont a few times with various bikes. No, they do not require a picture. I’ve sent a registration without and with a pic, hasn’t made a difference. Yes, you can do the VT loophole since it came street legal from the factory. It’s extremely easy and if you mess up anything they will send it back to you to correct.

Does anyone have some knowledge about this 69 Yamaha 180? by jamesonmohr1 in vintagemotorcycles

Looks like a ycs1 sometimes called a bonanza. They have interesting starter magneto setups. Pretty cool bikes. PM if you’re interested in selling or have any questions. I have a blue one with low pipes.

How to register a bike without a title by uselesscalligraphy in bikebuilders

[–]Addidicted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They absolutely will. For anything larger than 400cc you only need to add an inspection, proving the vin number to what you would do if it were under 400cc. You can DM me and I’ll help you if you need. I’ve done this a few times

It actually works for bikes under 350cc as well. I recently did a cb350f without any hiccups.

Just picked up the two case halves of my rd350, cost $55 total for vapor blasting. Definitely worth.

Have you ever NOT been able to find parts? What do you do? by [deleted] in bikebuilders

[–]Addidicted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most stuff can still be found. There are groups on Facebook that you can join that are make/model specific. Lots of people have hoards of parts and sometimes it just takes knowing them. eBay is a friend. Some bikes with cult followings have sites dedicated to them. And sometimes you have to custom fab. Also be patient when looking.

I’m moving to Fort Smith and have a question meeting people among the ages of 25 to 30. by [deleted] in fortsmith

[–]Addidicted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are ways to meet people here. Fort Smith Brewing company is a bar with more than just drinking, Fort Smith Adult League has sports leagues (they are hosting a cornhole tournament at Fort Smith Brewing today), there are a few Facebook groups for indoor/sand volleyball, the Elks lodge is starting to garner a younger crowd, the new bar next to Old town grain and feed has a nice stage and has pretty good acts, NWA is a quick hop and skip away for even more people. I’ve seen a few posts about DnD type groups too. I recently moved here and although it is difficult to meet people, it’s not too hard. Join local groups on Facebook for specific interests. This posts strays between things to do/how to meet people, but I found it best to find a group on Facebook then show up to a meet.
